4. You might want to give some kind of "write up" when starting a thread. If you post a single pic without any comments it will most likely be ignored or seen as a pic that missed a thread.
5. Don't use "More Like This". You're just inviting trolls to attack your thread before it starts. You'll have more success if you give some "guidelines" (or names of a character and the anime) for potential posters to follow.

Examples of Subject and Comments:
"Ok /c/ can we try a umbrella/parasol thread? On the beach or in the rain is fine."

I don't think you need to fill the comments section out with an essay, but give /c/ an idea of what your thread is all about. If you only have one pic of something that is hard to find be sincere and /c/ can be quite generous.

Here are a few things that will annoy /c/ and are probably best to avoid:
a) Bumping over and over again especially within the first hour.
b) MOAR! Once is fine, but too many will piss /c/itizens off.
c) Don't bitch about people ignoring your thread.
d) You might want to avoid using too many emoticons ie: XD. A thread full of emoticons seems to annoy the /c/itizens here.
e) LURK MOAR. Don't start a thread without checking all of /c/ first. No one wants to see three threads of the same subject going on at the same time.

I don't speak for /c/, never have, but I don't mind offering some advice (as do other /c/itzens here in /c/). Follow the rules, ask questions, use common sense, and take a long walk through /c/ to get an idea of what kind of threads succeed here. Good luck.

I learned that when my second "MOAR" was nuked in the Sailor Moon thread. I just couldnt help it. I was in a "need more wicked lady" high.

Also, can this be a Kanaria thread?

At least when ya make a few mistakes in /c/ (and put yer boot in yer mouth a few times lol) the good /c/itzens here are still very forgiving.

How come emoticons ain't allowed? Same with /cm/

Basically if things aren't along the lines of moeblobs they don't get a ton of attention. If things are different from the norm they rarely ever get replies. A lot of times I have to fill threads up myself. It's rather sad.

Emoticons are fine as long as you don't get carried away with them. Like the guy said, it's a helpful hint, not "the law". Think of it this way. If you use too many you'll encourage the trolls and probably have people avoid your thread.

Why don't people like emoticons? Probably because they tend to make you look immature, stupid, and/or hyperactive. They've just become cliche.

Or so I think. Someone who knows more about internet culture could probably answer better than I.

You make a emoticon, it starts a riot. So you post a reaction picture instead. It sometimes gets deleted, and in some cases, starts a riot. So it's best that you express no emotion at all on /c/.

Sorry if my behavior caught your attention, but I've tried so many times doing what you've mentioned, and never getting anywhere at all with that particular subject. Hell, I once did a 6 part thread all on my own before giving up and only got 1 contribution that whole time.

I'm a good person, but it just kills my patience.
