I guess the first thing I have noticed is the increase in trolling and the trolling of /r/equest threads. When did /c/ stop being so generous?

I know /b/ and other boards like to stay "anonymous", but it was never a problem before in /c/. I'd also like to know where the rule "roleplaying belongs in tg" came from. I don't like everything about this Sagebeard guy, but he's creative, he posts some great pics, and he and a few other namefags have made /c/aturday ours.

I noticed the exotic clothing threads are gone, but axis powers hetalia is still here. I don't see a "thread number" for axis though. Is it the same thread dumping away like over in /cm/ or is this a new thread?

/c/ancer and /c/hemo threads, mostly.

You know, people who jump in shouting HURP DERP XXX IS THE CANCER KILLING /C/ or WHY DO WE HAVE THESE SAME FIVE THREADS OVER AND OVER BAWWWWW.

Of course, it's only a matter of time before someone drops by complaining about said /c/ancer and why no-one does anything about it, so yay for cyclical posts.

Another thing I've noticed. What's with all of the foul language? I thought that it was an unwritten rule in the SFW boards like /c/ to refrain from using the "f-word" and other offensive swearing.

I guess this extends to "metathreads" in general, to the point where it feels like /c/ has a little too much pixelbitching about what constitutes good content and what doesn't, rather than people actually posting good content. Dis/c/ussion threads can still be great though.

Yeah, that's the same Hetalia threads that have been going on for months WITHOUT a break. I think they stopped posting thread #'s and /cm/ thread links to try to keep from being associated with the 400+ /cm/ Hetalia threads. It has to be at least in the 40+ by now.

What's bothering me on /c/ are threads like this and the constant assertion that it's supposed to be friendlier here than other places on 4chan. There are no unwritten "rules" for /c/ that are different for any other place on the site.

Rules of /c/:
1) Same as those for the rest of 4chan. No minors allowed.

Conduct of /c/:
1) Don't use emoticons. It annoys people.
2) /r/ is for requests. We all know that there's a lot of porn in it, so if you want images of a certain character, do an image search and find a few and post them in your new thread on /c/. Get by giving.
3) This isn't your blog.
4) Don't complain about how "nice" /c/ used to be. It was never nice. If you want to sigh and wring your hands over the state of things, go somewhere else. Complaining to the faceless masses to be gentle with you is a waste of time and really just bothers the people who would otherwise not go out of their way to harass you and troll your threads.

Instead of complaining on the boards I once wrote moot an email about these unwritten rules and asked him for clarification, I never heard back from him though. I figure that guy must get a ton of spam and emails so how can we ever expect an administrator to address our concerns? Thats probably the reason why threads like these pop up. Though /c/ is one of the most decent boards on 4chan it would be nice to have some moderators make their presence known and some clarification on the rules.

Hate to break it to you people but /c/ IS a part of 4chan. Your whining, bitching and arrogance cannot and will not change that.

Complaining that /c/ was better and nicer in the past isn't going to change it (only make the career trolls feel more accomplished).
Complaining about any possible spillover from other boards isn't going stop it (if that is even true).
Complaining about unwritten rules isn't going to make them go away (if anything, people will push them more).
Complaining about minors on the board is not going to make them go away (although the "tell us about yourself" threads did for a little bit... back in march)

If you want /c/ to be a happy place, you have to learn to ignore trolls, keep a positive outlook, help out as much as possible and be nice in all your posting.

And to note, being polite does not automatically equal being nice. You can be polite and troll people too.

Have fun living in your homogeneous world and living with your imaginary rules, some of us like to try and change things for the better.

One would think that if "request" threads or rehashes were that much of a problem, our diligent mods would take care of them. It's telling that a lot of the threads that draw "Bring it to /r/" responses are not thrown out with the spam.

Moot or whoever is in charge of the /c/ mods don't think it's an issue ti be concerned about, so I believe they don't violate the spirit of the rules.

Seemed like nobody had a problem with this until March or so when a bunch of people started complaining at once.

As to the flamewar about how nice this board is: Perhaps you should try what I did. Stay away from /c/ for a few months, and spend time on any of the other boards. Once you come back here, you will notice a difference.

Here's some advice for the newcomers:

If you come here with a request don't expect /c/ to bend over to do the work for you.
If you don't like Hetalia learn to hide it or ignore it. Those assholes are staying in /c/ out of spite.
The only rules you should be following are 4chan's and the only ones you should be listening to concerning the rules are the Mods, not the faggots who think they run /c/.
Take a LONG walk through the entire board before you decide to post. That's not a rule just friendly advice. People here in /c/ will attack you if you post something that already has a couple of threads going.
Ignore the trolls, report the trolls, but don't feed the trolls. Nothing shuts a troll up faster than ignoring them. The same goes for namefags.

As a longtime /c/itizen of this glorious /c/ity , I feel that the quality of posting has gone down to a certain extent due to...undesirable elements so to speak.

Sure , Hetalia thread spamming gets annoying but I can just hide them and ignore them. Out of sight , out of mind.

Otherwise , there are still plenty of good threads up and running in /C/ that more than makes up for the bad threads.

Also , universal rules set by m00t runs this place. Unwritten rules...there are some that newcomers should learn of (like only asking for a /r/ when /r/ has failed them or posting more than 1 picture to start a thread).
