I feel you... I grew up in a middle class, average neighborhood and was one of the smart 'outcasts' in my class. I am now going for a PhD in Biochemistry.

I sometimes find myself envying those people that can just go about their daily lives in perfect bliss. Not having to think about the greater mysteries of the universe. Not analyzing people's intentions and just enjoying the moment.

You could be a rocket scientist, if you don't have basic social skills, you're not that smart in my book. A truly elite person will be intelligent across the board. They should be good at sports, have musical skills, do well with math and physics/programming, and also have good social skills. Leadership skills are also an excellent sign of intelligence. If you can't socialize, you're a fucking idiot, no matter how good at math or ponies you are.

I used to think there was something wrong with me because I couldn't 'enjoy' myself in social situations like the people around me. I used to pretend so as not to appear wierd or odd. The effort of dumbing down to be accepted as one of the gang was draining. It took me many years to realise I would only find happpiness by being true to myself. The only reason the majority of people appear to be 'happy' is because they are too fucking stupid to realise the absurdity of their pathetic little lives. Op must learn to not measure his worth or life based on the values of sheep.
