Because Australia's housing bubble hasn't burst yet and thanks to my local/state government deliberately releasing almost no land for new development, stalling/stopping redevelopment of existing suburbs all while trying to attract people to the city, rent is absurdly expensive.

(but I lived out of home for 4 years and only move back recently, and will be moving again in ~march, this time to a different city)

Yeah I know. Negative gearing, those stupid grants and the absurd situation where capital gains are half of normal income tax rates.

    - there is restriction where I am though (Canberra) but it's unique. It's pretty much the only place in the country where rents come close to justifying prices in terms of discounted cash flows. (as in the choice of renting + saving vs buying is seriously unclear)
But that'll last about an hour once the banks go, austerity bullshit begins and they start slashing the public service.

    * Prolonged use of human growth hormone
    * Exposure to exotoxins, such as Agent Orange

Unemployment is the worst it has been in something like 17 years. Graduate unemployment is really bad too, but I have no comparisons for that.

Thankfully they understand that it doesn't really have anything to do with me. Everyone else I know that graduated in summer is still trying to get work - at least I'm not the only one.

I start a second degree (distance learning) in January and I've been learning C++ (incredibly slowly and badly), so it's not as if I'm wasting ALL my time.

I know a few people who did what you did. They stayed at home till their early thirties to avoid financial despair. Wanna know what happened to them when they finally got their own places?

Well, living with their parents half their life had stripped them of every bit of responsible thought. Their mortgage wasn't smaller than mine either, because I had paid down more than half. They ended up financially retarded, and their places looked like complete and utter shit, because mommy wasn't there to clean or cook.

I moved back in with my mom when I was 35. She was old, infirm and I refuse to put kin in a nursing home as long as I am capable and they don't want to go. My wife had died a few years prior and I had no other commitments. Besides my moms house was nicer. Now I live in a different house and I still have mom, but she is much smaller now, so I keep her on a shelf in box.

I don't understand the big deal. So if someone wants to live with their family and they contribute to the household. Why does it bother other people. I think this stigma attached is media driven to make consumers extend them selves and spend more money. I have my own house in the middle of bumfuckestan and would love the company of family if they were still alive. But then again I had great parents and no complaints about how I was raised.

Living in an extended family group is what humans evolved to do and what most humans on the planet still do today, 'Leaving home' is only an invention of western culture over the last century.

ITT: poorcandy-asss who can't afford to buy a house.

Guys don't worry the government is busy trying to find new and creative ways to fuck you and give your money to a few rich people. Theses rich people created the housing bubble. They want you to save nothing, spend everything and be debt slave, because it's good for the economy. The same rich people will then pay other rich people to write article's telling you to hate the middle-class, the poor or anyone who try to point out you are being assraped.

Honestly OP, I have no desire at all to move out. The ancient viking and aboriginal tribes invested much of their life amongst their pack. They saw no reason to move out of their tribe. They stayed amongst eachother. The concept of family was much stronger then, than it is today. Tell me why I should adhere to a newage tradition and essentially end my life slaving away for money every single day not to live but just to survive, when I can slave away for money that I don't need to spend? I have no long term goals. I have no desire to be anything important or achieve greatness like teachers and peers expect me to. I'm perfectly happy just being alive and living each day as myself without following the trend.

What about a guy who tests drum kits? Or beer?
Being an agent for porn actresses??

Or a living deity like kim Jong il?

Gotta set your sights high. You only get one chance.

    Best answer, tottaly agree
I would live alone tough i love being alone somethimes, but there is alot of freedom and i can be lazy all i want, we work together to get somewhere. When you have a girlfriend etc shit probably changes, but the thing is i don't really want a girlfriend, could change is i loved someone but has not happend ..

I would never put myself into a financial misery
Just to act like look "i'm growing up now"

No you didn't your just trying to show off
That person that lives at home could go out and do what he wants, can buy the car he wants

Doesn't have to do his laundry "yet"

    I have an idea!

What if two poorfags were to become one?!
Exactly! middleclassfag! Think of the slightly comfortable almost getting by possibilities we could or could not get away with.
