12/07/11(Wed)06:40:17 No. 366755682 I both despise and appreciate Reddit. I'll start by saying that not all of Reddit is full of candy-ass gotry,
but most of it is. There are a few subforums that welcome sane
conversation without circle-jerking. But, remember, that's only a few.
Very few. Very, very... Now, onto why that shit sucks, and I don't know where to begin. Reddit
takes itself too seriously. They see themselves as this bastion of free
speech, goodness, as the funniest people on Earth, as starters of
revolutions (they patted themselves on the back for the Arab Spring),
among many other delusions of grandeur. Their sense of humor
consists of dead memes, awful puns, and just really lame White People
stuff. You know what I mean, if you've ever picked up a magazine for old
White People, you'd know. The only "rage" about their "rage" comics are
the rage I feel after reading that poor excuse for humor. Reddit is
where memes go to die, but not before being beaten beyond death. Honestly,
go to /r/politics or /r/atheism. You'll get what I mean about their
circle-jerking procedures. All dissenting opinions, or even supporting
opinions worded wrong, as well as misspellings will earn you censorship
in the form of downvoting. The tripcandy-ass gotry
and attention-whoring is off the charts. most posts are a variation of
"look what my girlfriend made," "THIS," "WHY ISN'T THIS ON THE FRONT
PAGE?" "NAILED IT" "LOOK AT THIS ANIMAL," "MY DOG/FRIEND/RELATIVE DIED,"
"FUCK EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS," etc. Reddit is like that grandma
that just discovered how to use an email account and sends you jokes
you've seen from your old AOL days. Except multiply that by a few
hundred thousand. I could go on, but I'm crying right now that such a place exists.
