    79 KB I'M POOR Anonymous 10/27/11(Thu)08:12:33 No.360570377
I'm poor, and no, I'm not asking for money. Instead, I'm taking questions.

    Here's the deal:

I have a M.Sc. degree from an Ivy League school.
Worked my butt off after school, landed a few odd/freelance jobs. I now work three jobs--one an internship with no hiring prospects, a seasonal job at toys r us, and I have a freelance job.

    My combined income is ~20,000.

    Ask away.

Why the fuck would you work three jobs. I am glad there are people who are willing to do that. I would move or start dealing weed or some shit. The internet is full of information, I can use its resources to not have to work that hard. I'm a lazy fuck and I hate it, but can't deny who you are. If anything else, just an hero and be done with this "precious" existence; you won't care afterwards.

This. My fiance got her GED less than a year ago, and she just landed a job managing a mall for 65k a year, and when she "proves" herself, they'll pay her more. All because she was great friends with the old manager of the mall, and she came highly recommended, by that manager.

OP not all courses in University lead to a head start. University was intended originally as a means for academics to gather and share information (which is why you still have non-beneficial courses like Arts still in it) so it is easier for further pursuits in various fields. Here are a list of courses that DO eventually lead to a better life

-Medicine (first few years are shit, but you reap rewards down the road)
-Marketing (partially true, assuming you have attained skills in selling yourself and your ideas)
-Accounting (Varies country to country depending on demand)
-Engineering (high sought after, they are the problem solving "applied science" guys industries sought after)
-Law (Shitty internship, you need to know your way around the law to be good at this)

The false assumption most people make is that a degree is a ticket to the high life for the rest of your working career. In order to properly benefit from your course, you obviously need to exhibit qualities that are often held with high regard within your profession.
