Honestly /b/, are any of you guys disgusted when you see that 90% of the 99% literally have no idea why they're protesting? My school just recently got a mass e-mail by some random kid proposing an occupy (school name) and the great majority attending are kids who couldn't point my city out on a map. Honestly I couldn't really care either way with this whole occupy movement but it really bugs me when these morons start protesting...tldr: sick of hipsters pretending occupy (wherever) is the thing to do

>>358466063totally agree!I live in Sydney and saw an 'Occupy Sydney' poster today - it's like the Australian unemployment is currently at its lowest point in years, social mobility is high, which seems to be the main things that people are protesting in the states. From what I could get from the website this occupy sydney is more of a whinge about "corporations" without any concrete or specific concerns.
i'm disgusted when candy-asss post how ignorant they are on /b/

Also, virtually every other country has many other forms of corporate taxes, notably corporate turnover, among others, which actually makes the U.S. quite a bit further down the list.Talking about income tax was also atleast - somewhat - misleading, if anyone would bother with the CBO's recent report on the upper income tax bracket(s), nevermind how absurdly low the taxation is on profits from the stock market.

It's stupid. They don't have a real cause.. I mean, they have a cause, but they don't have a solution. They say now that they want the rich to be taxed.. that's great and all, but why propose this to the bankers on wall street? Propose this to the president, show up on HIS doorstep and occupy that.Still.. it's better than how it was before.. no one doing ANYTHING and pretending to be ignorant.

do you REALLY want to know what the protests are about??see this link:http://www.businessinsider.com/what-wall-street-protesters-are-so-angry-about-2011-10?op=1>e.g. average wages haven't increased since 1964 in the USA
Truth, like it or not, this is like most other protests. Although I can't help but notice how much more unruly these are than the tea party protests, it's probably because they were attended by a larger percentage of middle aged people who have a greater sense of responsibility (it comes with age, I'm not judging).Truth is there are people in this movement that are really hurting and have a message that needs to be heard. What is also truth is that their voice is being drowned out by selfish, ignorant college students who think that they're the first people in the history of the world to read a book and that their over-simplified economic strategies they came up with one night while hitting the bong are the answer to all of life's problems.I feel for those hurting, but fuck those losers who are standing in front of them drowning out their voice.
these people are more focused on screaming at cops and getting them to mace them then crying over it than their actual objective

A sockpuppet is an online identity used for purposes of deception. The term—a reference to the manipulation of a simple hand puppet made from a sock—originally referred to a false identity assumed by a member of an internet community who spoke to, or about, himself while pretending to be another person.[1] The term now includes other uses of misleading online identities, such as those created to praise, defend or support a third party or organization.[2] A significant difference between the use of a pseudonym[3] and the creation of a sockpuppet is that the sockpuppet poses as a independent third-party unaffiliated with the puppeteer.
