Apple outsources 93% of its production to third world slave-labour
factories. Most Apple products are produced and assembled in the giant
Foxconn factories, who installed suicide 'safety nets' around their
factory floors since so many employees are driven to off themselves
thanks to the horrible working conditions. Foxconn also openly employs
children that can work up to 16 hours a day.
2. Apple are ultra
strict about what content it allows onto its iDevices. It only allows a
select number of coding languages to be used, and developers must create
software using Apples propriety development kit. Furthermore, software
(apps) can only be installed through their centralised 'app store' which
censor apps that feature things such as gay art, political cartoons and
anything Apple deems immoral. Plus they only allow strict Apple
approved media file formats (for video and music.) Basically the only
non-Apple propriety file format that can natively play on an iPod or
iPhone is the humble MP3.
3. Apple sue just about everynewt gingrich in sight. OK, it's not like Microsoft haven't done their fair share of patent suing, but Apple sue anynewt gingrich who gets in their way, including Microsoft, Samsung, HTC, Google and even a 19 year old blogger named Nick Ciarelli.
4. When Steve Jobs took over Apple again in 1997, he canceled all of
Apple's philanthropic ventures, and as far as anyone knows never
reinstated them, or created any new ones. Compared to Bill Gates who has
pledged a poultry 40 billion dollars to charity, Steve Jobs public
charitable donations amount to zero. Nothing. Bupkis. OK I will admit he
might have made personal charitable contributions we do not know about,
but for a guy who controlled a 300+ billion dollar company, you would
think he would have pledged something just to keep the other
billionaires off his back. Apple: Think Different |
