A very small percentage of people get jobs by walking in and handing someone their resume. I have never hired anyone that did this. You have to know someone that will help you get a job. Go to all your friends (assuming you have some) look at their companies and find out if the company is hiring. Have your friend mention to their boss/HR that you will stop by and are good at ..... and they have known you for x years, etc. Then you stop by and hand in your resume.

Probably the best advice youll find on here, coming from me fucking around for 4 years after finishing school.

Degrees dont really mean shit, youll get one and still not be able to find a job.

Trades take fucking forever but if you can stand the years of bad pay, youll eventually be fucking rich but have to work your ass off your whole life doing manual labour.

NEVER, I repeat, NEVER EVER even bother looking on those fucktard sites such as seek, careerone, or even smart jobs (the government job website). Seriously dont even fucking bother. You will spend ages writing up your selection criteria to apply for the jobs and end up receiving an email 3+ months later saying "Sorry, 3000 people applied and you were unsuccessful".

Best peice of advice I can give you (PS This is all Australian Based) - Go to a god dam employment agency, look respectable for your interview, be fucking prepared for their questions and what you want to do (even if its office work in the government).

Dont bother with fucktard agencies either, go to places like Workpac or any other place in your local area that handles government, council and defence jobs. They put you in a placement, even temporary, which usually leads to good solid, well paying work. None of this fucking around waiting for an answer or interview.

But try being really assertive. Don't just hand your CV in, try to meet whoever runs the place and make an impression. Learn the owners name, ask to meet them and make your mark, let them know why you're better than anynewt gingrich else for the job.

op here, army/navy not good option im broke my foot when i was younger if i run for longer then 10mins i have to take my weight of it. also i live in a rural area on nsw coast only one shopping center and a couple fish and chip shops near me have to drive 30-40mins to get to a small city. i apply for the close shops once every 2 weeks and have gonna in and spoke face tom face several times with the owners. and because i have no income to by car i cant make the 30min drive to the other place and there is no buses/trains.
