There's always been some sort of internal message, whether it was about religion, politics, trends, celebrity attitudes, and more, mixed in with the occasional random crap.

I loved the old episodes which were REAL stories that you could get into. They were SMALL ideas with characters we loved.

Truth or dare, build a treehouse, shop class, two kids getting into a fight. These are good things. Even the "big" things like celebrity appearances were fun, because they were done well and still in a "small" way.

South Park will never be the same. It's destroyed, but still watchable for what it once was.

The ideas have nothing to do with the character development or intensely creative world they've built.

The ideas are just using the familiar South Park design we all know as a vehicle to poke fun at it. It's hard to imagine there ever being another episode like Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society.

You know what it is?

At first they just did this crazy random comedy show, but they threw a little "I learned something today..." moral in at the end, as one of their running gags, like killing Kenny.

But then people started commenting them on the morals, and before long, they started believing that their ability to point out the obvious (or just give their opinions... I don't think they can really distinguish between the two) made their work important.

Nobody wants to spend their whole life as a clown. You don't always want to be "that funny guy". It would be nice to be "that smart guy" or "that important guy".

So now the humor takes a back seat to the message, so they can pretend they're not just clowns.
