it should start of with you getting laid for the first time, but it turns out you used too many ruffies and it kinda screws her brain which equals zombie.

You're a gardener and you love to garden, plant fruit trees and anything organic. One day while you're digging in your garden, your shovel bumps into some kind of solid barrel like object in the dirt deep underground. There is some unknown symbol on it and your curiousity kicks in and you want to open it. You call your brother to aide you in this since you're too fucking weak to open it (also youre a female, you dont know anything more than making a sammich in kitchen) Once he opens it a gas penetrates through the lid infecting him. He passes out and you call for help, when the medical team gets there he is pronounced dead at the scene...... moar?

It depends on whether or not you want to be making social commentary or an action-packed thrill ride.

I personally like it when NO explanation is given. Just suddenly there ARE zombies and no one knows why.

Other than that, you can always go with the ancient tomb/artifact, or the modern virus/chemical/drug/radiation/etc.

I've also only seen "smart" zombies done once. It was sort of a lame movie, but when people died they just woke up an hour later, as zombies. Other than that their lives were pretty much the same, they just smelled bad and looked nasty. Eventually some figured out that by eating humans they looked and felt alive for a few hours after, so a cult developed around human consumption.

If you really want to fuck with people, pull the religious angle. You've heard all about "Rapture" right? Make "Rapture" the zombie apocalypse. All the true believers souls go to heaven, but their bodies stay on earth as the zombie army of zombie jesus. All the "survivors" are sinners, and the only way they can have "redemption" is to be voluntarily eaten by a horde of zombies. Naturally, they don't know this, so they're unwillingly dooming themselves to hell by killing zombies.

Protip: Hell is actually just Earth with Zombies in.

The government releases a new drug to immunize people from the HIV viruse, except the dead cells in the virus somehow were sustainable to re-animation we exposed to a warm bloos stream. Test subjects of the virus were showing no signs so the first two years, so the second rounds of testing began. The initial vaccine starting to take effect on the first subjects within weeks of the second round going out. The PHASE 1 subjects came down with flu like symptoms and died within days, but the re-animation properties of the evolved HIV cells took over the prime functions of the immune system leaving only the hunger for flesh.

These zombies strike first from inside the morgue and at funerals, the morgue creates a drastic scene because the first few infected break out INSIDE a hospital, while the secondary victims are at funerals and emotionally scarred. The second phase test subjects are teenagers, and the virus kicks into effect a week later, except no flu like symptoms - they all just commit suicide from insanity and rise again to strike at survivor groups from the inside.

The story should be from the perspective of a teen survivor in a group of survivors, witnessing a few friends die from suicide and whilst grieveing them witnessing the rise again.

The main character has no knowledge of the virus or its origin, and humanity is confused as to what is happening and cant find the connection to the vaccination. You work out the rest.
