    Britfags.
    No excuses.

I have recently got a second job, why is it, most of my unemployed fag friends say "theres no jobs out there" when within ONE, ONE fucking week of me handing CVs out, i have had 2 interviews AND now got one job out of it.

Is it pure laziness? or are you generally scared of working?

I'm in the US and I've wondered the exact same thing.

Back in Sept '08, I decided to quit a decent-paying but frustrating job, then the world's economy went right down the shitter. I took six/seven months to just hang out, started applying again, got a job, did it for a few months, figured out the money wasn't enough, got a *second* job, did them both for almost two years.... then quit those, because I got picked up for an even bigger, better opening with a totally different company.

I have ZERO sympathy for any faggot who says they can't find a job.

I'm gonna talk about Europe now. People cant get jobs, becouse if they did, they, or their employers would go to jail.

Its simple, really. Employment costs are too high due to governmental regulations and taxes.
People cant afford to hire anyone more. Too few people are buying their products as it is. Profit margins are often non-existant. Inflation and national debt mean that there are no availbe savings for investments, banks are unwilling to provide loans, etc... In short, its next to impossible to hire new people in accord with existing laws for the vast majority of bussinesses. And if you try to hire anyone "privately"... Well, you're labelled a profiteer, a parasite sucking the blood out of the poor workers, and thrown in jail.

Its alot easyer to get a different job when you have a job than when your unemployed you get references and can prove time keeping just take any shit job u can get ur hands on aslong as u can live on the wage and if u have to give up smoking and drinking and other such pleasures in life do it untill you have that better job.

its the same here in the USA my /b/rother. In California where I live, the unemployment rate is going up every day, and is now at 15%. The company I worked for went under, so I had to look for a new . Since I am not a nigger or a lazy wetback Mexican, I had enough money saved up to last me about 6 months, so I would not have to go on unemployment if this situation ever arose. Within one week of applying and going to interviews 8 hours a day, I landed a better job than where I worked before. Now I get to go back to having 1/3 of my paycheck taken out in taxes to pay for all the lazy mother fuckers who are on unemployment.

Some towns have a really low ration of Jobs to citizens.

For instance, when one job opened up in my town. Over 600 people applied for it... It was only working at Argus.

conclusion: Lazyness is a factor, but so is the part of the country you live in.

Learn a skill that will help the country make the things that the rest of the world wants to buy. Germany aren't the world's second largest exporter for nothing, and they're doing OK.

I train engineering apprentices for my daily crust. Their wages are shit when they start out, but most of them still live at home and all they do is run a car. After four years they're trade-qualified; six years and many of them are foremen; ten years and some are senior management and on loads more than me. Posting crap like "I have moral issues with working like a slave for a pittance" displays ignorance, short-sightedness and is a weak excuse; all that attitude does is use pride and ego as a cover for laziness.

My boss didnt even let them know hed sacked me off, i had to come in and tell them. I know they placed another lad in the same place not long after me too, still dont know if i should hate them for that or realise that they had no choice cos their options were very limited too.

Last i heared they had given up with the youth apprenticeship business as hopeless, and refocused on corporate training business instead.

Yes, because as we all know, labour caused the worldwide recession. If it weren't for the recession there would be no problem. And the tories are cutting too fast, too quickly, that's why economic growth has slowed down so much and so many economists are predicting a double dip recession. You sir, are the idiot, if you believe what the tories say.

Perhaps if the NHS did its fucking job and didn't charge people in work a fortune for meds, dentistry and optical care, a minimum wage position might be a rational choice.

all a deficit is the amount the government earns plus the amount the government spends. If the tories allowed the economy to grow, instead of risking a double dip recession, the amount the government would earn would increase, hence the deficit would reduce. You have been convinced that cuts are the only way, but they are not. These cuts are conservative idealism. Allowing the economy to grow, as labour was doing, would be a far safer and more sustainable and logical solution.

ten years of labour bollocks has lead to an arrogance in the british blue collar unionised man. People seem to think that a certain wage is their right. No wonder we cannot compete with the chinese etc. Labour and its endless cycle of debt financed obscene welfare benefits turned vast swathes of the economy into de facto rentier state economies. The link between hard work and reward has been psychologically broken, and people are now in for a hell of a shock.

Ultimately a society should obviously look after its weak and marginalised, but cash handouts are not the option. Welfare benefits should remove the fixed costs of living, e.g. rent, tax, gas etc, but not provide any disposable income as they currently do.

TL;DR the north is a shit hole and they're all lazy wasters up there.

cool maths lesson - shame it wasn't an economics lesson

there are as many jobs as you want there to be - you can create jobs. there isn't some person in the state with a finite number of jobs for us all. this isn't communist russia. fucking get out and do something. banks are loaning again - come up with an idea. fucksake - but don't go on about how supply exceeds demand.

I know, I know...my friends would have the same reaction which is why I don't tell them. It's about the prospects, don't take this the wrong way but what prospects are there in working at a petrol station? In a few years I will be competant in a skilled trade and a few years after that I hope to set up my own buisness. No pain no gain eh!

People all complain about not finding any jobs, but the fact is that they are just too fucking picky and lazy. It has to be the right place and it has to be very interesting and rewarding and it has to pay well and blah blah blah.
I have friends who are like that. They complain constantly about how hard it is to be unemployed. I offered them the opportunity to get a job at my workplace but nooo. That was not in the right city or not the right field of what ever excuse they could find. Fuck those fuckers. I moved aways from my lovely wife, to a city far from anything just to get a job.

The best thing that could happen would be if they abolished social security completely. That would teach those lazy fuckers a lesson, and I could save some of my hard earned tax money!

If by 'you' you mean the average person, no, the average person cannot create their own jobs. If by 'you' you mean the government, yes, and that is exactly what labour had tried to do. But maybe you haven't noticed the never ending surge of redundancies sweeping Britain.

so the average person can't create a business? man the tories are COUNTING on these people, the innovative private sector that would bail out the public.

oh wait no you're wrong - you can. my uncle did last year after being made redundant.

so for that reason, i'm out

I hope you are right, but it's not what I see. In my experience most unemployed people are unemployed because they are lazy and/or picky. I wouldn't mind though, if I didn't have to pay out of my ass in taxes for their upkeep.

Luckily for me I don't pay rent. I still live at home as I'm only 18. I really feel for those people who have no support from their parents. I live with a single parent and we struggle for money like everyone else, but like I said; I don't pay rent and only contribute a small amount of money towards basics like bread and milk. I am of the opinion though that if you want work you will find it. I could earn more money working in the factory down the road from my house stacking boxes, a couple of hundred more that £35 but I'm doing what I do with the future in mind. Everyday I struggle to convince myself to get out of bed and even when I'm there I can't wait to get home but that's life.

Also, here's a little logic for you.

With people being made redundant, having taxes raised and benefits cut, it is hardly the economic climate to set up the millions of new businesses required now (most of which would fail in a healthy economy anyway), is it?

Unemployment is a product of capitalism, not a side-effect. A large unemployment pool has to exist to keep people in fear of losing there jobs making them obedient. If there was no unemployment then the workers would have too much power.

i must say state benefits are immoral.
the state steals from people who work and gives it to those who "can't". If I don't pay my taxes to this system I get thrown in jail.

Surely charity should be voluntary. I'd rather donate to causes I think are worthwhile, not be forced to give my money away at gunpoint.

If you can't find a job - make a job: No one can stop you starting a business.

I'm 18 with GCSE's currently doing A-levels. I want to get a part time job and I had one until the small company I worked for went bust...

I've now applied for 37 places and I try and call each and every one of them every day to ensure they haven't misplaced my CV and/or application form.

I've applied everywhere except 4 places for the following reasons:
Homebase: They fire you VERY quickly and can fuck up your record. Only go for them if you're willing to put out a LOT of stock

A cafe: They said my size would get in the way, I'm 6"2 and kinda fat and apparently that's not what they're looking for

A jeweller: 21 and over and have to have a large amount of experience

A small indian shop: Family owned, no-one outside of the family ever gets employed.

So, how am I doing? About a month and a half of looking and calling and still nothing. Note that I would have to cycle about 20 miles each way to get to these places...

but the real world can and will stop that business from succeeding. Benefits are needed to get people in jobs, and to give them food. Without benefits, people would die. That includes the children of those on benefits too. Yeah, not dying is so fucking immoral.

Thank you for the clarification(also thanks to the other posters) With that info in mind I see how the 100 pound a day worker is in good standing but the 35 a week is effectively piss poor, especially if you try to live with rent alone. Creating jobs is the American thing but remember it can't just be done by will alone you must have a. a great focused idea that can be brought into reality which leads into b. loans for original finance which the banks need a business plan. Been there done that. Not that not successful but being your own boss can be hell in itself.
