i dunno, the more i think about this the more i come to the conclusion that wikileaks has changed from a whistleblower website to something that is in war with the United States. the whole "when will wikileaks leak what info" has turn into a very interesting chess game, and this is a defending move - the strongest defensive move made yet. Although their best defense is imho their popularity - just think how many new whistleblower sites will open in case wikileaks is going down. It's a bunch of 1s and 0s. That's all any computer file is. Once we turn the 1s and 0s from the encrypted file into the 1s and 0s that are the unencrypted file, we will probably be able to work out what TYPE of file they are.

I'll give you a summary explanation but I know a lot of mathfags are gonna say "ohh you got it all wrong blah blah blah." Long story short is that it's a mathematical way of distorting the information into meaningless numbers and you need a "key" to tell you how to re-assemble the numbers into information. Except the number is soooo long that it's impossible to try every combination, even with the world's best computers. The only way to crack it is by figuring out how the people chose to distort in the info in the first place, which in this case is even less likely to happen.
