Soup /b/.I'm building a new computer. I'm an Ausfag, and it needs to cost ~$800. What would be the minimum specs you'd want on a semi-budget gaming PC?I'm thinking:-Intel E8500 Dual Core 3.16Ghz (quad cores in this price range are shit)-Radeon HD5750-4GB RAM DDR3 1333Mhz-Cheap mainboardAnd what screen will suffice (not included in the $800)?I'm thinking a 22" LCD but could go to 24" if 22 isn't enough these days.
i wanna build my own soon too but lack the cash.camping in this thread for opinions
damn OP no one helping you.

bump for op
Throw out that Intel, pick an AMD quad core. Better price-performance ratio.
Q9400 > E8500

I haven't built in years, but I'm working up a budget for it. I'm thinking along the same lines, Dual core, 2-4gb ram, don't skimp on the mobo. I haven't had great luck with asus and via or nvidia chipsets.
Don't save too much money on your mainboard. Shitty mainboards ruin perfectly good system setups. Also: get 6GB of ram for triplechannel.
go to Best Buy (or whatever you moon-people have as an equivalent)and buy the best open-box demo they have???profit
>>223323201No, I've used AMD in the past. They're total shit in comparison to an Intel of the same specs. Gotta be Intel.
best advice... go to /g/a building a computer thread there is like a buying a handgun thread on /k/bound to get lots of resposes, lots of trolling, and a few reasonable posts that will help you make ur decision.
>>223323201This.Also, RAM modules are quite expensive now, can´t you wait like 2 months? Yo can save on those 4gb around 40$.Also, waht Hard Drive are you going to buy? And try to buy a good Mainboard.
Also, depending on your operating system, go for 2 GB RAM with an option to upgrade to 4 GB later. Also a 22" LCD is good enough, but do some research for a decent one. Hint, the higher the contrast the better.
