lol, I dunno OP. I use bluetooth headphones (they're what, 10 or 20 USD at dealextreme now?).

The sound quality isn't very good but it's more than adequate for walking around listening to music. As a bonus, if your hair is long, you can leave them on all throughout fulfilling your responsibilities and no one will notice unless they are turned up loud

I put them up my shirt whenever i need them, and leave them hanging in between listening sessions untill the end of the day

I do this. When I get to where I'm going, I usually take them out, and let them dangle over my shirt and hide it by zipping my hoody up. It's simples really.

im not a self conscious faggot like OP so i take my plugged in ipod, drop it down my shirt and put it in my pocket.

the only time i use an ipod is when im at the gym, so this method is necessary for me to do. but if i was to use it on a normal occasion then i would just wear it like a non-faggot would.

It's easy to do and for faggots who have cheap earphones which don't allow them to be bent without forming huge knots.

As far as where they put them afterwards, shirt pockets are pretty common but typically I see them just put them in the hood of their jacket etc.

Honestly though, this is just annoying and it bothers the fuck out of me for some string to be dangling around touching my stomach etc.

As far as how I wear mine, I place my media player in my pocket and the cord reaches almost perfectly to my ear. Afterwards, I simply tuck it in my pocket maybe once or twice and the cord is perfectly tight so that it isn't pressing against me but also isn't bouncing around retarded.

I usually do it from home because I listen to music on the way out.
I bike a lot so I'm sorta forced to put them down my shirt, otherwise the cables get caught in the handlebars. Had it happen once and I almost destroyed one of my first MP3 players.

When I arrive where I wanted to go I unplug it and pull the cable up my shirt and put it in one of my pockets. I don't really give a shit if they get tangled.
If someone wants to talk me on the way I pull one of them out and let it dangle in front of me, but I never pull both out since it looks ridiculous. If the person changes side I pull the other one out and put the other in again.
If I'm at some big place where I shouldn't be listening to music I pull them out and then pull all the excess cord up, and then around my neck.

If I end up pulling them out from my phone entirely and down into my pocket, I just put them back down my shirt and then grab them on the other end. It doesn't look as retarded as you make it sound like. I didn't notice other people doing it before I thought about it myself. People don't really notice it.

Considering I always wear a jacket when on public transports (necessary with the cold here), its just as simple as keeping the iPod (or MP3 player or choice) in the jackets inner pocket. Just shove the earbuds into the pocket when you're not listening. Also means your other pockets can still be preserved for keys, cellphone, wallet, etc.

I do this at work: ipod shuffle (no buttons on unit) clipped into the rear of the waistband of my underwear, with the cables running up my back, under my undershirt. This way I have no long loose cords to snag or catch, and I can tuck the earphones under the front my shirt when I'm not listening/the bosses show up in the morning.
