Just be careful. My ex gf found a little turtle and brought him home. Tried to make him comfortable.. even bought him a little aquarium and such. He wouldn't eat so we contacted the local animal museum and asked how to care for him. They said it was nearly impossible to raise this particular turtle and that it would be better to release him into the wild. Just make sure he is of a variety that you will be able to care for.

Aquatic turtles are a pain in the ass to set up and properly care for. They need lots of room (roughly 10 gallons of water per inch of shell), heated basking platform with UVB lighting, good filtration (because they're messy eaters), and a good diet possibly supplemented with, but not consisting of, some sort of prepackaged turtle pellet.

I've did the same thing with 2 turtles, and i've keept them for 3 months before letting them go in a swamp protected area. You HAVE to give it a place to rest, and you should buy a hot lamp (not to powerfull). I highly suggest you to feed him little frog some time, these turtles are real killer. Film it and post it = win. Red fish and fishing worms works fine too and you probably can use mouses. Good luck OP
