This guy I dated a couple years ago moved out when he turned 16, which was in January, and that same month, a law passed in my state that said the legal age to move out is now 17, and since his parents didn't give him permission to go, they called the police and said he ran away and he was on probation for two years after that because the police obviously took his word over theirs.

So, yeah, they'll probably call the police and they'll detain him until his parents can pick him up, and then he'll probably get charged with whatever they charged my friend with and end up in more trouble than he had to begin with.
