I'm not religious, but I decided to give something up for lent anyway (for my mom<3). Luckily for me, she believes it should be something personal and not shared. So I gave up fapping and as far as she knows I gave up something WAY more meaningful.

When did Lent become cool? I spent my highschool at a Church of Christ private school, graduated from it, and we never talked about Lent, much less celebrated it.

Lent is a Catholic, and I guess Orthodox thing as well, that is supposed to "celebrate" Jesus fasting in the desert for 40 days. That's why you give something up and have a party at Long John Silver's every Friday. Ash Wednesday is 40 days before easter. Glad I gave up Catholicism about 11 Lents ago
