02/19/10(Fri)21:42:47 No.199367226I
put in my effort at my shitty burger job. I'm open to night jobs of
stocking shelves, etc. Can't rightfully get a warehouse job because I
don't have any sort of forklift license, and again with the 5 billion
years experience. I work really hard at my job, and I know that
eventually something's gotta give. I'll get a raise (should have
happened already, but it's impossible to get a raise/promotion when
corporate has such a high turnover in management. they're always
shuffling people around, so no one sees me for more that 6-9 months
before they're off and some newfag comes in) or an opportunity will
arise, and having 4 years experience at the same place will show said
new employer that I'm competent.
I work $8/hour, 6-8hours/week,
and my rent is 200 month plus utilities. I share a small room with one
other person in a small 2 bedroom apartment shared by 4 people total.
The total rent is 1000/month plus utilities. The other two pay 250/month
plus U because it's the master bedroom and they get more space. I
borrow a lawnmower from my dad sometimes and mow people's lawns. 10
bucks a lawn, once a week, I have about 5 customers. Shit works, man.
I'm
working as hard as I can with the opportunities I've got. I'm looking
for new opportunities to work. I'm educated without being in debt
because of it. I don't see how I'm doing anything wrong. I'm not
religious or spiritual, so I don't believe in Karma or anything... I
wish Karma was real though. Because then I'd know my hard work would
pay off! Something's gotta give eventually though. I hold on to that
believe. When I was 15, I was obsessed with the Great Gatsby. I
wanted to be him! Now I'm still willing to work hard and be a self made
man, not to become Gatsby anymore, now it's just to afford shoes... |
