Ausfags, you're all gonna vote Liberal next election right? I mean you could vote for the sex party or something, but come on, we don't have the numbers to make them win. You either vote Liberal or throw your vote away.

Also for the Americans reading this and wondering why anyone would vote "liberal", our "Liberal" is the opposite of what you know as a "liberal". The other party (Labor) are the retards that care about the environment and stuff. Oh yeah and if my fellow Ausfags didn't know Ruddy is spending 10 billion dollars on environmental shit soon, and to pay for it he's raising electric prices.

    MY FELLOW AUSFAGS

Is anybody else aware of the internet filter being out in place throughout Australia? Apparently MA15+ online material is being completely banned, which will make it harder to access 4chan and other sites. Vote Liberal or we die.

bro, a whole website can... WILL be banned if one part of the site contains content they deem innopropriate. So if one video on a porn site has small tits the whole site is banned and it's a 14k fine and jail if you go there, also Youporn, Redtube, etc, are already on the banned list, so I think it's safe to say all internet porn sites are banned. Also ED and the chans.
    >> Anonymous 02/16/10(Tue)06:37:12 No.198031389
Hold on wait a minute - The liberals are in full support of the filter - in fact they WANT to "improve" it! (which means restrict our freedom of speech)

    Therefore, i vote Anonymous ftw

I'm sorry, but in Australia you don't throw your vote away unless you donkey vote (invalid vote) or you vote above the line.

Number all your preferences. If you vote for a fringe party and it doesn't get enough votes, your vote will still count for one of your preferences.

So vote for the sex party if you want. Just make sure you put the bigger parties in the order you prefer later in your preferences

    1. Take down My School website.
    2. Release a press release detailing this site will continue to be down until the government ACKNOWLEDGES this isn't about CP, but regulation of the internet. Also make up some shit that the My School website undermines Australian teachers.
    3. Get a shit tone of Media coverage.
    4. PROFIT!

If a parent's child has the knowledge to browse for porn and gore, then it should be the parent who needs a slap. But don't let logic get in the way.

If a child goes on a murder rampage after taking inspiration from a MA15+ game, don't blame the parents for purchasing that game in the first place

Yeah, but some kents want to play online with other Australians. Our internet infastructure doesnt allow for any meaningful games with overseas players.

We know we can get the games, its just the principle that some faggot with a hard on for Stalin's social policys can hold ransom the rest of australia over a key issue like this.

There is a good chance that the internet censorship bullshit will have already been past and approved by the time the Federal election comes around.

We need to let our voices and opinions be known now before the politicians start trollin for votes.
Time to get the rest of the public to smarten up to what is actually going on here.

There are a couple of State elections coming up soon, will be a good opportunity to pass some messages to the major parties. The Greens are openly against the censorship so my vote will definitely be going to them.
    >> Anonymous 02/16/10(Tue)08:16:01 No.198045294
No person under 30 will vote for labour if they still have this filter policy.

Unfortunately we have an aging population which means a large percentage of the pop who don't understand the internet in general and will probably support them - but then you have the old liberals as well so it's still going to be around 52 lab -48 lib preferred party.

Also LOL Peter Garrett nice deaths you got there.
    >> Anonymous 02/16/10(Tue)08:17:19 No.198045467
You don't need to make them win. If we get enough votes for even 1 person in the pirate party or the sex party into the senate or house of reps then we at least have some representation. It also takes power away from the government if you don't vote for one of the major two.

I am going to vote greens, sex party, or pirate party simply because Labor and Liberal both seem as bad as each other. My against them means they are weaker and we have at least some representation. The government in power always needs independants or the greens on their side to pass laws and stuff.

We have a preferential voting system so it's not a waste of a vote. They don't have to form majority government to have a tremendous effect on the future.

Anyone who thinks third parties don't make a difference read "The Barren Years".

What happened after the One Nation party won a few seats? Howard suddenly took a very decided, very cynical right turn... essentially undermining the One Nation.

What's going to happen if the Sex Party wins a few seats? These major parties are going to realise they have to change their policies with the times, or become obsolete.

Vote for a third party, it sends a powerful message to the major parties and the balance of power is a useful thing to have.

Just looked at the Aus sex party site, I like their goals:

-Ending the tax exempt status for religions.
-Abolish sex slavery and sexual servitude by introducing non morality-based immigration policies that allow bona-fide sex workers to work legally in Australia. - Legal prostitution, yay

    The best:

    * Bring about the establishment of a truly national classification scheme which includes a uniform non-violent erotica rating for explicit adult material for all jurisdictions and through all media including the Internet and computer games.

    * Introduce an R and X rating for computer games

    * To overturn mandatory ISP filtering of the Internet and return Internet censorship to parents and individuals.

Seriously guys. I'm sorry to spam every single Ausfag politics thread with this shit. But this is an important election coming up. Both major parties will implement this internet filter and worse. Both candidates are fucking smug sanctimonious christfag cunts.

The following two parties are very different in many ways, I would say the Sex Party is more left leaning, whereas the LDP leans more to the right. But both parties are libertarian and anti-authoritarian in nature (as are most people, especially Australians)

Vote for one of these parties first preference.

The other one as your second preference.

The major party you prefer as your second to last preference.

And the major party you do not prefer as your very last preference.

Part of this conservative turn is because Family First party has a few seats and are able to twist the governments arm.

If we had some libertarian minded parties holding even a single seat, it would do a lot to counter this.
