those were not the implications of what OP asked

when you say a "movie that changed your life" it means that when going about your everyday life thinking about why you do certain things that you do, and you attribute those things to certain events in your life....such as a movie, book, experience

some are more meaningful than others

Ok, let me explain to the dumbasses that don't understand. If you wake up one day and do nothing, your tangent of life is set on a linear line of you doing nothing. But, if you went out and picked a flower then a slight shift has occured. Everything changes your life, if a drop of rain hits you in the face, the small action of moving your hand to wipe it away has altered the course of your life. It's the domino affect, you gotta learn some logic to understand this simple understanding.

You are still not taking into consideration the effect a movie has on someone's perspective, it can be a lot more life altering than the physical act of going outside and picking a flower. GTFO you idiot. You obviously failed your little philosophy degree. Psychological altering will have a much more resounding effect.

The implications? Are you mad? Here is what OP said "itt movies that changed your life" Let me write this as a mathematical equation for you.
The accelerant - movies, the affected - you, and the affected aspect - your life. There are no further implications than that. I merely took it as the context I saw it in as any movie changes your life. You just fail to realize that OP didn't clearly state, movies that have changed the way you act in life, your morals and ethics, and all the ways you have changed in accordance to the movie you had viewed. That is all.

oh and where do you expect to get meaning from? staring at a brick wall? maybe if that brick wall had something painted on it it would make your mind react and think. art can give meaning to the meaningless. does anyone know the meaning of life? no, but cinema can explore the idea through the art of film.

He just said "indulgence" - he's not implying some meaning at all, just that maybe the fact that we've got a prefrontal cortex and some executive function beyond what is afforded to us by the amygdala means that if we like we could do things beyond what our biology minimally requires of us.

Grow a personality, your disenchantment and indignation at other people's opinions is a petty cover for your lazy, underachieving ass.

    Yup.
If movies are an art form, then so is porno.
Watching Cumback Pussy #29 for the first time when I was like 21,was the first close-up,full-on 'gape' I remember seeing,of pornstar TJ Hart.
I kept pausing it and playing it back, and jerking off repeatedly.
I got a few friends round, all excited, and I showed them the clip several times.
They were just kinda like 'meh, porns cool, mut this doesn't do anything for me,dude...'
I kept playing it back, like I was seeing something they were not,I was fascinated by it.
I realised right there,I was WAY more of a pervert than ANY of my friends, and this was gonna be pretty much it for my sex life from here on out...

I disagree. Avatar has the same "mighty whitey" theme as pocahontas, but the underlying message is a lot greener. You know, James cameron repeatedly and very obviously stated that navi where a lot better because they are in touch with nature and humans are bastards and all that.

Still, If some poor fuck needed to see avatar to actually care about going green said poor fuck hasnt been reading the news for quite a while.

    V for Vendetta.
Watched it 3 years before knowing 4chan existed.
Many other movies, too lazy to list them all.

The Number 23 with Jim Carrey

I'm really paranoid about this number since I watched this film, 2 years ago since watched

I was in junior high and I was the cheery-happy class clown. I went to see it on opening day with my classmates who decided that waiting for me after the movie as I was having a piss wasn't worth it.
I had my first fight that same afternoon as I found one of my classmates on the bus. Never went goth or emo (I was into hiphop as a kid), but it did give me a better grip on reality pretty soon in my life

Wrong. I just think that changing from a movie means you havent been paying attention to real life.
