I love the way he reviews games, whether he legit hates them or not

I thought he would be stupid and unfunny before I actually watched him. I thought to myself "This nerd thinks he's funny."

I saw a stream on JTV unbeknowest(sp) to me that it was actually his show showing. Boom, 2 episodes later, I was hooked. Funny as a motherfucker.

Pretty much all of these guys are pretty funny, but some people get tired of it, or they read a review and it clicks in their heads that they must hate them.

Anyone who hates these guys for being stupid, cheesey or downright retarded really must not get the point.

Spoony always makes me laugh, the nerd is just interesting to listen to, Critic is chuckle worthy.

And while we're at it, Linkaras jokes suck, but the comics themselves are enough to keep him afloat.

Honestly, I prefer the Nostalgia Critic. Doug is just funnier, IMO. But James does some pretty decent reviews. I just wish he would cut out the heavy theatrics and just try and focus on posting more often.

I wish he would just switch to calling the show "Angry Gamer" He doesn't act or look like a nerd (what fucking nerd drinks that much beer) He doesn't know how to dress like a nerd,never even tucks his fucking shirts. And the show doesn't need the schtick of him being "a nerd" to make it funny to people who are like him and like the show.

So ya. "Angry gamer" would be much better imo.

The show is pretty good. I keep imagining it being kind of fucking awesome with some money to back it up. (i.e. get better fillers instead of the incredibly cheezy ones)

I notice lately he's falling back on characters in the show itself instead of just games. But I guess it's hard since people aren't exactly making new shitty NES games and stuff.

Yeah, Doug does the exact same gesture with his hands pretty much every time he says anything. Still funny, but he can be very cheesy. See "Holiday Clusterfuck" or some parts of "Batman and Robin"

His actual reviews are mostly funny, but everytihng else is unfunny, and he tries way too hard. Case in point, the physical comedy in his episodes have never once made me laugh. He even devoted an entire episode to that crap (Bugs Bunny 2nd review). It's just childish and stupid.

James Rolfe is great when it comes to the history of games (and movies, cartoons, etc.).

Take his review of Street Figher 2010 for example. Spoonies review was a lot more fun, but Rolfes had a lot more info about the history of Street Fighter and Final Fight.

Some of his jokes are childish because he knows a large part of his audience are underageb&. He uses his kid brother as a guinea pig for a lot of his material (see the vid where he makes fart noises to sing the end credits)

I found the nerd while looking for the Stay Puft Marshmallow scene in ghostbusters, he popped up.

From there I found the critic through their feud, and then Linkara popped up, spoony I found through the brawl, tsk.. so late.

That's probably why he gets away with using the cheap physical comedy. I don't laugh at any of the "diarrhoea" or "cow shit" jokes at all - it's just the actual content of his reviews, like the game flaws he points out and pokes fun at, which is funny. Way too many detractors in his reviews nowadays. In fact his latest episode is probably one of his worst.

I do think his best material overall is probably his earlier stuff (like Castlevania 2 and Back to the Future), when there was little to no emphasis on the crap I'm complaining about.
