you have to be registered if you're a man aged 18 and up, but selective services is full of fucking retards that can't keep their shit straight, and just so you know how retarded they all are, here is how my situation went:
got a letter from SS to register, it gave the option of registering online, so I registered online, shortly after I got my proof of registration in the mail, a year later I get a letter saying that they sent a request to the department of justice that I be prosecuted for not registering, and with the letter was a form to fill out to register, I filled out the part of the form to confirm my registration and sent it back to those idiots, well not too long after they sent a letter saying "Thank you for requesting information about your status with selective services", as if they didn't fuck up at all, then a few months later I get another letter with yet another registration card, bunch of incompetent morons

home when we had no where to live, we were trying to get away from my stepdad in another city, and we just dropped everything and moved in one day, these people helped us do it and encouraged us to do it.

OP, if a family member did it for you and signs your signature, that's forgery. It's a federal offense for your family member to do so.

However since you're register with Selective Service, my advice is not to worry about getting drafted. A national emergency will never happen, the US military has enough soldiers in the unified armed forces and the national guard.
