2 years ago, I watched an anime named 'Elfen Lied'. All animes have an opening sequence, but the music for this one was strange to me. For the most part I had seen openings with generic girls and crap, but the artwork and the music was really odd for me.
The opening's song 'Lilium' became an obsession for me since I finished it, and still to this day.
I play it in the morning, in the afternoon. and right before I sleep. I play it on guitar and has nearly become the only thing I play. Whenever I see another guitarist I teach them the song.
I always ask pianists to try to play it aswell, although I've really only met two people who could even play the first few seconds.
I play it all the time around my friends. It's the only song they hear me play all the time but never complain. I'm even considering getting piano lessons in order to play it.

Is this bad? It's not actually getting out of hand or anything like I'm killing people cause of it, but I want to know what you think since I'm beginning to think it could be bad.

This is usually the rendition I listen to, but I do listen to the actual opening as well too.

Kinda scared to even watch, but w.e
>>
watch more anime, that OST is nothing special.
>>
I liked the anime/song too. But not that much. You will probably get over it. If you like the art in the intro, look up Gustav Klimt.

I think it would be cool if you learned piano, if only to play the lilium piece.
>>
fucking LOL,that song makes me feel idk..probably explains why i download the whole death note/monster OST ;_;
>>
It happens for me sometimes. I let a song loop all day long or longer, otherwise I can't get it out of my head.

Nothing to worry about I'd say.

But he's been doing this for 2 years.

Hrm, I was always on the brink of mental problems but taking massive drugs and alcohol let them all out, then I got like you with obsessions

sorry, i have no advice

I've watched a lot of anime prior and now. I don't think that's an option
>>
I know the feel when getting addicted to Anime shows Openings....
a bit to much actually ._.

It's a good song, but if you're obsessed for long periods of time, that isn't healthy. I went through a brief Lillium obsession, too.

Try listening to music along the same lines, maybe expand your tastes a bit.
>>
If this has been going on for 2 years do you think there might be a sentimental reason behind you doing so? Such as how the anime/song makes you feel, what was going on with your life when you first heard it, etc.

The cool thing about Lilium is that it's in latin. When I watched Elfen Lied I was in 9th or 10th grade and I had just finished Latin 1 in HS. I could hear/read/understand what the singer was saying. The lyrics are 100% grammatically correct and spelled correctly.
I didn't obsess about Lilium, but my little sister did. She begged me to help her learn how to play parts of it on the piano. Since then (2007 or earlier) I have watched better anime with better OST's.
Possibly my favorite opener is Ghost in the Shell's "Inner Universe"

It has Russian, Latin, & English lyrics with a bassy electro song made by the same musician that made all the music in Cowboy Bebop.

ANYHOW, I don't know what advice to give you. You'll move on sooner or later. You'll find another song you like.
For me, I like to find artists I like and listen to all of their work and move on to the next.

haha oh man. I remember watching Elfen Lied when I was like in 7th grade and I wound up playing lilium on clarinet for the talent show. fun stuff. I'm going to a convention in September and have been wanting to learn some songs to try and get some dollars from the weebs there, so I think I may need to re learn it for acoustic. that shit's in C# major, right? I still remember the god damn clarinet fingerings for that shit too.
