Alright /adv, longtime lurker who rarely posts.

I've got about a year and a half left in the army and a deployment to the stan before freedom. I've got a bunch of courses I've taken while in, somewhere in the ballpark of 100 hours but it's a smorgasbord of different schools and it's a pain in the ass.

I'd like to spend as little time as possible in school, but is it possible to apply as a transfer/? My only reservation is that I haven't really put in classes towards my now realized major (computer engineering) and I've taken mostly electives so I think applying as a transfer is out of the question. Does that mean I have to apply as a brand new student, and if I do that how does it affect transfer credits?

Also, general tips for college? Assuming I'm not the last or one of the last dudes to die in Afghanistan, which would suck, I'd like to make the transition as seamless as possible.

An aside to anyone planning to join, please don't. It's lots and lots of ass pain and generally just being fucked with when you're new and having to manage and treat grown men like their twelve when you've been in a moment. The wars are almost over so getting action packed deployments is unlikely at best, and there's this weird sense of downsizing where if you want to stay they seem to force people out and if you want to leave they dig in their claws and won't let you go.

Also, what sort of shit do kids do in college nowadays? And are there any females in engineering?

In Australia, stuff like Civil and Environmental have a higher proportion of females compared to Software but either way, the number of females is probably like 20% at most.

Fak. BTW you Australians are great people and very friendly.
