I live in a deadbeat town with very little job opportunities, so I decided to study at a university with a mandatory placement year so I could leave education with some form of work experience.

I studied in a different country, so I organised my year-long work placement through emails with the local university so I could become a research assistant. They're definitely taking me on for the role, but tomorrow is when we meet for the first time to discuss things.

Trouble is, I'm almost 21 and I've never been to an interview before. I know it's going to be very casual because I already have the job, but I want to make as good an impression as possible. I also want to know the best sort of questions to ask about where I'll be working, what I should know before I begin working etc.

I'm aware there's a bunch of resources out there for job interviews, but I'm not sure if they still apply when you know you already have the job. I've never been able to find a job before so this is all new to me, I'd greatly appreciate help. Pic related is what I was planning to wear, is this appropriate?

You ever been on a date?

Yes, but I've never been on a 'I have to make a first impression' date, we were best friends already.

Read up on the job, think up some questions. This will show that you have an interest in the job, want to learn, and wont just kick back because you getting the job is a "sure" thing.
Beyond that just be your best polite self and try to make a good impression, introduce yourself properly to people and so on.

As for the dress, can't say though depending on the type of work I'd probably play it safe and stick to neutral single colors, no patterns/stripes/dots/whatever, and classic traditional workspace clothing first visit before I know how the dresscode is.

You'll do fine, don't worry and good luck.
