    Attention everyone else: GET READY FOR EXCITEMENT!! On Sunday we'll be rolling out our new imageboard HTML/CSS. Everything has been rewritten from the ground up and replaces code that is nearly a decade old. The designs will be 100% the same, but this should allow us and other developers to more easily modify and create add-ons for 4chan. Large threads should also render more quickly, and we also have a new mobile view for those on mobile phones. And a few other goodies.

    We expect the migration to be pretty painless, but expect some wonkiness tomorrow afternoon. The Official 4chan Chrome Extension will be updated immediately, and has a bunch of new features and runs 3x faster than the old one, so be sure to grab that in advance.

    Now for something a little less beta than the usual threads here.


    I'm 19, got kicked out of uni, and moved back in with my parents in january. I got a job at walmart, working overnight maintenance, stripping and waxing floors, general cleaning, whatever).

    Now, the overnights are killing me. I'm generally unhappy and miss the daylight (and having a social life). So this past week I talked to a manager about switching onto dayshift, he said its cool and I can come over as soon as they can find a replacement.

    HOWEVER..
    Since the walmart I'm at is renovating, there hasnt been a Maintenance Manager. Recently, the Head Maintenance manager of the entire district came in to help with the transition and such. Now, I've only worked there for four months, and some guys have worked in maintenance for 10 years. The Head Maintenance guy tells me (after I'd already indicated to the store manager that I'd like to move to days) that he wants me to be the Maintenance Manager for this walmart, that he would train me and, while he couldnt specify the exact pay, he said it was "very, very good" (it'd certainly be a lot higher than the 11.70$ I make at the moment).

    So what I'm asking is, what the hell should I do? I'm really conflicted because I can't stand graveyards and would really like to go back to days, but, this opportunity to become a manager doesnt exactly come along very often, and any supervisory position looks awesome on a resume.

    So, what the fuck should I do?

    Take the promotion and immediately start looking for a management position with another company. You'll work nights for a few months during your job hunt but eventually will find something that pays better and is a day shift.
