I don't really like Miranda in ME3, they decided to strip her of controversial aspects so as to make players who might not have liked her before sympathise or feel sorry for her when she died.

Also the presentation of Cerberus in game was devolved from ME2's grey portrayal back into a one dimensional one. Therefore having Miranda interact with the Cerberus arc was deemed bad.

Also as she was excluded from the squad i'd guess and it would be easier for them if her story to was self contained.

I don't blame her ME3 writer as it seems pretty obvious to me they were boxed into a corner and told to write based on what was in that corner.

Probably wouldn't change much about it, but I'd elaborate on why it looks the way it does. Like EDI wanted to shape her body in the form of her creators, and she needed a place to put some kind of technical bullshit, so she made designed herself a pair of tits. Stuff like that.

I'd also make some quick rewrite about why she has the body in the first place, making sure to emphasize that having a remote body is useful or even necessary for some reason.

I have minor issues with her writing in both games, but I think when you look at her character overall she's pretty well-written. The quality of the romance was definitely improved in ME3 over ME2 - the only real problem I have is the unnecessarily gratuitous ass shots. I don't really care about "objectifying women" or any of that crap, but between that and EDI's sexbot body they just crossed the line.
