-Dangan Ronpa's popularity will explode with the anime, which, combined with the additional factor of Homestucks migrating to it, will make it the most obnoxious fandom of 2013.
-Marvel-casuals will make a resurgence in the fall with Thor 2 (i.e., more Loki).
-JoJo will slowly dwindle now that the anime has finished. If Part III begins airing before the year's end, we'll probably see more awful Jotaro/Kakyoin shippers and whatnot, but with any luck, it'll slowly reach the levels of mellow-ness it had before the anime.
-Madoka Magica will spike in the fall and next winter with the new movie, but it'll be short-lived unless it introduces new outfits or characters.
-Free! will become a cancer in the summer. Even before it was officially announced, it had one of the worst fandoms in a while.
-SAO will probably linger until the late summer, given that a lot of cons lately (Sakura-Con, Anime Boston, etc.) have been pushing its English release.
-Next year, The Musketeers will join Doctor Who, Supernatural, and Sherlock in the pantheon of awful BBC fandoms.
-Tiger & Bunny is pretty much dead until 2014 with The Rising's delay.

Basically, things will remain pretty much the same as they did in 2012, with the exception of some Homestucks migrating to Dangan Ronpa and some yaoi-fangirls doing lots of shitty Free! crossplays.

I bet Hyperdimension Neptunia will get really popular for Cosplay once the anime comes out in summer. The whole franchise is made for cosplayers who want to wear revealing and/or cute outfits.

This, plus a short boom of Valvrave once the costumes are available on eBay/TaoBao. I expect yaoi crossplays and hambeasts cosplaying that pigtailed girl who hasn't yet been introduced.

I can see OFF being a bit of a sleeper hit, or at the very least there will be no fewer than 20 Zacharies running around at larger conventions like AX.

I think last year is where Homestuck hit its peak; the fandom will still be (as whole) obnoxious and the gatherings still overcrowded, but I don't expect it to get any larger than it is now.

Attack on Titan is a tough one to judge. It's become the trendy "edgy" series to like. As much as I approve of the... flattering strap placement and cut of the uniform, I unfortunately think this also means you're going to get a handful of teenage girls showing up to conventions in questionable quality SNK jackets from ebay, and adding shit like collars and handcuffs to their costumes, if the behavior of the KH fandom years before this is any indication.

My Little Pony will probably start fading out real fast.
New full length series of Avatar/Korra is coming soon. That fandom seems fairly sane though.

Kuroko no Basket might pick up a little.

Doctor Who will probably fade slightly because *so* many people hate Moffat.

I'm predicting more Titan.
Dangan Ronpa is gonna be nipped in the bud with the SA paywall, I think. Sure some people might pay for it, but I doubt it.
Homestuck will stay consistently big. I don't think it'll gain a lot of followers or attention with hiatus, which is nice.
Bioshock Infinite is gonna continue riding out on its popularity, probably fizzle out toward the end of summer.
OFF will get stupid big, but will fall just as quickly as it came to trend.
Western stuff will probably stay steady, maayybe more Teen Titans since the new show has come out, but it doesn't seem to be received well by fans.
Madoka will stay consistant until it spikes w/ the new movie.

I'm hoping the VIOLENCE keeps a certain type of anime fan away from attack on titan (the tumblr tag is fucking hilarious just from the people who are only watching the anime who are completely unaware of the fact they are upset about nothing)

Anyway, it's not just that. Korra and ATLA alike have a history of people freaking out over white people cosplaying Water Tribe characters, and people coloring any of the characters anything from as dark as they've ever appeared in a screenshot, even if normally they're pale as fuck.

I'm really curious about this, because I do feel like Dangan Ronpa is going to be the next Hetalia or some shit, but my question is how did it exactly just burst? I'm assuming through Tumblr, but how?

I've seen only one person play the game, but only because he actually knows Japanese. When the translation comes out for the PSP I'd love to actually play but until then my hands are tied. It's really annoying.

I'm from the SEA (Singapore to be precise) so I'll try and predict our fandom =P

- Shingeki no Kyojin, definitely. 1stly due to the whole 'new edgy anime' thingie, and then we have popular cosplayers (For example, Reika) that cosplay SnK characters.

- Free! as well, it has been such a hype when the animation is announced, so yeah...

- SAO will still be around for a while, it has been a trend since last year and I think it will go strong for at least another year.

- Kuroko no Basuke will remain trendy, it has been going on strong since last year and I am really not sure when will it fade out.

- Madoka Magica will slowly fade off, maybe a bit of hype for the movie but for now can't be judged much.

- Dangan Ronpa trend never really come to us, in fact people hardly know the characters for now, maybe it will be improved with the animation.

- Bioshock Infinite trend never really come to us as well, so far the ones I know that express interest in the series are the ones who play the game already (More updated towards western fandom) and the ones who heard about it through playthroughs (Particularly more known ones like Cry's) And then Asian's concern on pulling off the caucasian look, so I don't think it will trend much.

- Homestuck and MLP never really come to us, it's almost unknown here when it comes to cosplay and the fans are quite quiet about it.

However, there are fellow Homestucks here, its jut their cosplay scene is mostly in the shadows.

I think that Karneval is going to be a hype as well, due to the ~bishie~ characters (and some girls watching it with no interest of the plot whatsoever).
ROTG will probably fade in the summer, but knowing the rabid fangirls it'll probably last until there's no more multiple Jack Frosts in cons.
OFF is definetely going to be a hit this summer, especially with all the attention tumblr has been giving to Zacharie,

It won't be as bad as Hetalia or Homestuck though. Sure they'll be some pretty lackluster costumes but it's certainly not something casuals will take a shot at, the costumes are crazy hard to make.
