I don't really notice any drama but I don't really go to my community's meets due to the lack of other non-weird 22-28 year olds anymore.

you guys haven't seen the worst of it. I live in a small province in Canada, Manitoba to be exact and our comm is just horrible. Anon, if you do join one, be prepared to test your fucking patience.

I dont know what happened next since I left pretty quickly, I know theres a video up somewhere but I haven't been to any of their "meetups" since, fucking insane.

Local comms sometimes do and sometimes don't have drama, but the most common thing is just kids. Kid can be really cute and very funny, but they can also very often be embarrassing to be seen with in public, especially the kind of socially inept people homestuck meetups bring in.
Have thick skin and don't be afraid to laugh at how embarrassing people are acting, and you can probably manage to have a good time. Try to connect with the adults, if there are any.

don't act even remotely crazy at a con because the slightest weird behavior will immediately classify you as one of /those/ homestucks. the ones that get even more dirty looks than the average troll cosplayer.

find out if your local comm is decent or not. there's a couple, such as southfloridastuck and bostonstuck, that are infamous for drama and shit tier cosplays, so you might want to steer clear if you're in that area.

for me, i guess i'd be in socalstuck (sdstuck is it's own different thing, and i've heard that they're pretty immature down there). the people here are pretty normal, or as normal as you can get for homestuck, anyhow. haven't heard of any major drama since i've become more turned in to the comm.

ATLStuck is probably the worst Homestuck community.

There isn't one in my local area, as far as I know. I intend to stay blissfully unaware, even if there is.

I wish I had a local community but sadly nothing fun happens upstate. :l

Local comm is ok. I think we finally got rid of the biggest dramabitch (a hambeast Gamzee/Vriska with shitty plush horns, idgi). Could stand to be better, but alas. This is Homestuck after all.

They have a really bad reputation even in other states. They aren't organized like some states. Their behavior is par with a lot of homestuck horror stories. If you really wanted to know more, just witness them in person and you will realize why some people actually hate people who cosplay them.

Being an actual Georgian I can vouch for most of this.

They're not AS bad as everyone says, but they'r pretty damn bad.

My local community was okay until our one local con rolled around and it exploded with 12 year old weebs. (last September) Then a rumour floated around that I was a 14 year old who seduced old men for drugs/money/drug money and I left (last December). Was kind of a shame. I've never been into Homestuck but I enjoyed the people so I went to the weekly meets. It's gotten so bad that the founder and all 3 original mods left. It's absolute shit now, seeing as it's just full of obnoxious and disrespectful weaboos. It's almost embarrassing to see.

Oh gosh, I know. That meet last year at Main Event was pretty bad.

I had some fun in the group but it gets so tiring after a while. And a lot of the older members are really friendly, but they jumpstart friendships so fast and it gets really artificial, and the next month you're at a meet, they don't even remember who you fucking are. They're not so bad, but pretty annoying, and so obsessed with cosplays and fandoms that they suck the fun out of it. I'm still in it but not very active, but I'll probably drop out by next year.
