Seriously, it's a numbers game, and 200 apps with 10 slots just doesn't mix. Whoever runs the selection has to pick "which of these is going to get a lot of butts in seats to not waste the slot? which of these already has enough of its type?" and a whole bunch of other shit. They're not out for revenge on you and your panel.

Con staff usually has to decided what content people would most like to see. I am quite sure the OP was referring to the conduct in which the rejections were being handled. as someone else said, this is about professionalism. Then again I think ax shouldn't take itself so seriously.

I vaguely remember some panelists raging last week about panel rejections. why are they sending out approvals and rejections a month from con? I imagine they say hey, sorry about the rejection. we got swamped. maybe next year.

Look, when I wrote this I wasn't trying to be mean but I was being real. i staffed at cons before and it aint frakking easy. Hundreds do it for free every year. The panel manager can only handel so much stress and needed to vent in a really dumb way to her derpy friends who were so derpy didnt think to tell her that this was not a cool place to talk about it. whateva.

We all wish con managers could be like maddash he-man awesome professionals that can get anything done fast and true. but they work for free and we need to give them some slack and ax should lay off her.
