On the west coast, and I am literally flying out for T.M.Revolution I am that fucking excited. Whats it like, for the benefit of a newbie like me? Also wondering about pre-reg.

yeah, but it's still a high profile guest of honor. Otakon is very crowded but not too hectic. There's plenty to do, though I personally spend most of Otakon hanging out with friends that come from around the country and doing shoots, so I don't have too much experience with the events side. Videogame room is really good for console stuff at least.

Since you're probably not used to the weather- it is like a SAUNA there in July-August. Drink plenty of water and stay out of the sun. Wear sunscreen. If you plan on wearing a very covered costume you'll want to plan to stay inside the A/C.

The harborside area is nice but just a couple blocks inland any direction is the ghetto. Avoid the panhandlers. Sometimes they get into the con center but they've been better about that lately.

Pre-reg: The line is long earlier in the day but I always wait until just past sunset (7-8) to get my badge and usually walk right in, stand in line for maybe 20 min tops. It's no hassle.
