It's bound to happen. Ohayo is one of the bigger Midwest cons, especially for wintertime. And with the idea that you can get away with nearly anything at a con still firmly planted in peoples' heads, we're gonna keep getting the crazies. And since they cause horrible things to happen, we get more security/police showing up. With over 14,000 in attendance, it was bound to be nuts.
Plus, America's Got Talent was filming in another part of the convention center, so that maybe was a factor in the heavy police presence.

"Ooh! I found a child!" Was what the Ryuunosuke said before disappearing for a sec before returning with the kid. Also it's unfortunate that the quality is bad enough that you can't see the really nice touch of some blood spatter on the hands and face that helps accentuate the point.

Anyways, Ohayocon had some p terrible cosplayers hence the lack of photos this year. I hope that the Homestuck cosplayers in the future attempt to cosplay something more creative and spectacular instead of Homestuck. There has to be some jewels in this garbage.

My first con in ages, and my first attempt at a not-total-shit cosplay. I had a rather fun time, and I think I may be hooked now.
Fuck trying to seal all that white makeup was a royal pain in the ass. Also learned the painful lesson of "Don't have your costume clothes in the room when you're powdering the living fuck out of everything", as anyone who saw my cosplay could see.

Man, there were a shitton of "eh" Jokers there, but there was this one who, as far as I could tell, was TOTALLY in character the entire con who made up for all of them. And not annoying dark-edgy Ledger insane joker, he was like a cool mix of comic, Romero, Animated, and Arkham Asylum. Just fun to see doing antics.

There wasn't really a lot of stuff I personally wanted to do at the con, but in general it seemed like a good one for the rest of the people there.

As my first con, I didn't think they were as good as they were made out to be.

Was I wrong. I've resolved to actually cosplay (or even crossplay!) next time, and am still getting over this post-con depression (somehow distinct from the regular kind...)

My only problem was probably that so many panels filled to capacity too quick. But otherwise, I now see the value of cons.

I was kind of confused that there was hentai out in the open, being an all ages con and all.
First time I saw hentai being sold like that at a con.

It was like that last year too.
Last year was the first year I remember seeing it like that.
I was very confused both years that it was so openly displayed, especially when I saw kids around.
Even saw one mother trying to keep her 5 year old child away from it. I felt rather bad for her and felt it reflected badly on the con/culture.

This was my first time attending a con and I actually had a really good time. I don't have anything to really compare it to, so I can't say if it was great or terrible. I had fun, but I heard from people that had been going for years that this was the worst year they experienced.

I personally say as far as cons go it was one of the worst Ohayocons.
Far too few actual anime related panels compared to recent years. (Why be an anime con if a majority of your panels aren't anime related?)
All the fucking Homestuck cosplays made everyone stagnant looking. It was like a sea of grey. I hope Homestuck dies down A LOT by next year.
The con area was much smaller.
I couldn't even see the masquerade because the room hit capacity. Last year they had video viewing rooms for those who couldn't get into the main room to watch it.
The price went up. This didn't make sense considering the smaller area we got.
Some of the new cosplays rules were stupid.
It kept one of my friends from proceeding with the cosplay he wanted to do because he had to be shirtless for it, with lots of intricate body pain on his chest and arms.

That said, I had a lot more fun this year than I did SOME previous years, just due to the people I was with, and what we decided to do ourselves.
Was a fun/good con regardless, but no were near the best.
