Kingdom Hearts
Really only the first game and KH2, I didnt like the gameboy releases or the PSP one. But I really like the first game and the second one. And I dont know why. I think it's all the disney, it's actually a lot of fun going through some of the worlds. And I get a laugh because it feels so much like self insert fan fic. I mean it actually is, a too good main character going around pre established stories and saving their story because of said main characters awesomeness. Yet it's still endearing to me. It doesnt hurt that the gameplay isnt too bad either. I really dont like turn based combat which I think is why I really grew attached to it. It was one of my earlier games when the first one came out so it was pretty easy just to use button smashing and have a ball with it.

And Kairi (KH2 version) was one of my first cosplays, I bought it not made it and a friend later broke my dress when she tried it on with out asking.

But the fandom is so awful it's just... augh.

I'm a little thankful now because it's not like everyone and their mother is doing KH.

For me its Homestuck. I love Homestuck, and some of the fandom is tolerable, but as for batshit, bad cosplayers, weebs, and attention whores theres absolutely no doubt in my mind that there's all those in spades.

I'm kind of waiting for it to be like Kingdom Hearts in my area, where the hype dies down and eventually it becomes more of a "Oh man I remember Homestuck it's great" than a "holy shit why did I choose Homestuck to cosplay 3/4 of this con is Homestuck please stop screaming kids I am so sorry other con-goers I swear I'm not like these guys wait why are you sneering at me I told you I'm not like them"

Despite all this I still cosplay it though. And two of my next planned cosplays are HS so there's no chance of leaving it soon.

Kuroshitsuji, though I'm not much into it anymore after the most recent arcs. The original story really drew me in with the clever storytelling and mystery elements, and to me Ciel was never cute. He was a twisted, selfish little boy and I really fell in love with him the more he revealed of his disturbing nature. I wanted to see what he would grow into as a man, or if he would even make it that far. I had really high hopes for the storyline but lately it just feels lazy and panders to the wrong crowd. The fandom honestly wasn't too bad until the anime... from then on it was just a downward spiral into derpravity and KAWAII CIEL-CHANS!!11 KAKKOI SEBBY!!

I cosplayed from it twice and had plans for more but don't know if I'll ever get around to them. I don't get how there are so many amazing costumes and people make the same three outfits over and over and over. At conventions the fangirls and more obnoxious cosplayers really are the worst. When we did the Circus group most of the Kuroshituji cosplayers didn't know who we were. When I cosplayed Ciel I was harrassed by hambeasts, creepy stalking Sebastians and snubbed really hard by other Ciel.

And Black Butler. I'm with you OP on the manga arc (though is a school story really any better than zombie!Titanic?) I had some girl glomp me (like a hard, running glomp) when I was Ciel in Wonderland. She apparently mistook me for a friend. I was so angry I left the con after that (it was Sunday, so I wasn't too pissed about missing out).

Also going to have to say FMA. The fandom isn't bad, but the Edward Elric fangirls... I get the most comments and jabs and heckles in that cosplay. So I guess Ed is my guilty pleasure? Even if there are a million bad cosplayers of him running around with their own greasy brown hair and sneakers.

Pic semi-related. The Al posted to the elricest lj com asking for money to go see her Ed. These two were in online ldr and seriously believed themselves to be Ed and Al. I tried giving them some advice because at the time I was in an ldr that had started online and transitioned into real life, but they were just oblivious to reality. I think they've moved on to other fandoms, but the level of delusion... like the Al refused to role play with anyone else because she viewed it as cheating. Their cosplay isn't terrible, but I know Al wore the cosplay in the airport while she flew to go see Ed in Canada.

They also posted my fanart on their FB and didn't credit and I bitched them out because I don't want my fanart on Facebook at all. I had to do this several times and Al always got upset and claimed it was her bipolar that made her... I guess get so upset? Idk, I can't stand when people instantly throw out a medical condition as an excuse.

So that's my elricest horror story for the fandom.

Homestuck

I love cosplaying as the Kids but I absolutely hate all of the trolls, save Vriska. The story is dragging on too long and I hate pulling myself through hundreds of lines of shitty pesterlogs just to catch up with the story I don't even care about anymore.

My nigga. I did a god tier Vriska a while back (I actually met my boyfriend at a HS meet), but Homestuck has gotten so far away from its roots that I don't really care for it anymore. I stopped at Roxy's wizard book. I haven't been able to work up the initiative to read through that.

Another Homestuck. I prefer doing personal takes on alternate outfits (pic related, glitch trickster shirt just after I finished it) or species swap kids just so that I look a little different to cookie cutter defaults. I also really love the latest updates for a couple of reasons.
The first being that Hussie is pissing off the fanbase so much with this trickster shit and the second being colourful outfits (fuck yes) rather than black+grey+candycorn and white+tiny logo.
I also have an intense dislike for the majority of the fandom but that's what happens with a larger reaching media. It's like Naruto all over again.

Vocaloid. Holy shit Vocaloid fandom I just can't deal with the levels of weeb in it it makes me cringe. I've always wanted to cosplay from it, but tbh I neither have the body type for it and I don't want to get harassed by little screeching girls.

It actually makes me really sad because its hard seeing any artist's hard work being reduced down to "Kawaii uguu" by its fandom. I feel like this happened to Kuroshitsuji and I do wanna read it but I'm put off by the younger fanbase.

I'm actually intrigued by rabid fan/horror stories. Fucking love em. I like to read some of them to my fiance and tell him "that's gonna be you..."
I love legend of zelda but I cannot/do not talk about it with anyone. My best friends boyfriend makes me a little ashamed to like it. He is what's wrong with every zelda fan. I mean it. He won't play very many other games (absolutely refuses to play anythin new), he says LoZ is the best game ever, and he hates rabid fans DESPITE being one.
I made the mistake of telling someone I like zelda (along with a few other games ) and they said "Ohhh nooo you're one of those!"
So now its almost a dirty little secret...I still wanna cosplay skullkid though..

I don't hate bad cosplays (I only think drawn on facial hair is...weird looking) it reminds me of when I first started.

Hetalia, Bleach, and, to an extent, Pokémon.
I'm only slightly active in the Hetalia and Pokémon fandoms, but they all kind of get a bad rep.
I hate telling people my favourite cosplays are from Pokémon, because it's always assumed to be, "babby's first vidya," even though the manga and games do get fairly dark. Also, Pokémon gijinka are almost always looked down on, because most people just slap on ears and a tail onto regular clothing so they can be easily noticed, while the really nice, elaborate ones get passed over because people expect gijinka to be uncreative and instantly recognisable.
Oh, and JRPGs in general. They're pretty much my main genre, but goddamn if it can't attract some of the biggest weebs.

I unironically love the English dub of Yu-Gi-Oh. The English names, the terribad accents, the constant derailing of the plot to focus on card games...I love it.

Homestuck is definitely my guilty pleasure. I'll admit that I used to want to cosplay a lot of it, and I still do later, but I've recently lost my drive to cosplay ANYTHING Homestuck because of the fandom and it taking over so many cons. Honest to God, when I was at Ikkicon last year I overheard a guy near me say that he wanted to just punch any Homestuck because of how many there were.

Kingdom Hearts and the first few dubbed seasons of Pokemon are this, too, and I'll be cosplaying from KH later.

That was early 2011 I believe, they have sense moved on to more outrageous fuckery. We're on the second major arc since then, but if I do recall (haven't re-read it in a bit) the leftover plot from the circus arc is rearing it's head, or did in between the Sherlock Holmes/detective arc and the zombie!Titanic arc. Or maybe it was between zombie!Titanic and school story arc.

Zombie!Titanic was almost a whole year long if I remember right. A very trite plot, but there are MAJOR character revelations. So worth it for the big reveals? Otherwise the story hasn't been stellar.

Admittedly I got into the series because my gf at the time was like, "It's mostly male and when countries form an alliance it's like a marriage." So I got hooked because of the yaoi subtexts, but stayed for the weird history and such. It just makes international geopolitics more enjoyable in my head.

I think people get drawn to it because there is a huge cast, so it's easy to find a character you like and aren't so boxed in. The costumes CAN be easy, but there is also a huge range of options. First it was uniforms, then historical dress, then Halloween stuffs, now Nyotalia, and more recently 2P (which I understand on a base level, but don't comprehend the obsession with it, same with Nyotalia, which is an excuse for girls to not have to crossplay).

Also, the episodes are short. You don't have to devote a lot of time to the actual anime or manga because it's such a short, fast presentation. It's not like a series you have to take time to watch and digest over a longer period of time. You can watch all of Hetalia's 100 episodes within the course of a day or two.

And fangirls always like something they can ship that has semi-canonical sexual innuendo.

Well, Yana Toboso certainly seems aware of the yaoi tendencies of her series, though she definitely does not label it as such and really resists fans labeling it as yaoi.

I was hoping with the Titanic arc she might pull another corset like scene with a car scene reference, but it was like the one thing from the Titanic movie she didn't directly copy (sadly).

Though with recent Lizzy developments, it seems she pushing the het a lot more. There is way more interaction between Ciel and Lizzy in the Titanic arc and Lizzy seems to be starting to take on a more typical shojo heroine role. Though the story is still fundamentally about Ciel's revenge, lately it seems that overarching plot has gotten lost. The last two arcs... I can't even remember what their significance is to the larger story. Which tells you something right there. I need to re-read the series, but I feel the plot got lost somewhere after the circus arc, or maybe that the last major thing I remember beyond these last 3 plots which are interesting side ventures and would make a good OVA type story, but aren't in the least bit relevant it seems.

I want more of Ciel's descent in darkness. That's what this inevitably right? It'll be a choice between his revenge and his humanity, how far he'll actually go to know who killed his parents.

There are interesting fan theories though that have surfaced, so at least fandom seems to be thinking beyond zombies and cricket matches.

Code Geass. None of my friends like it and I enjoyed it; I just didn't enjoy the mess that season 2 was. Yet whenever I mention the merits of the series I still get dismissed anyway

My guilty pleasure is always Sailor Moon. Rarely see good cosplays in person, but would love to attempt a sailor v cosplay some day!

I actually like the cosplay that has come from it, and the fandom doesn't seem to have a fuckton of issues compared to most others. However, I think the series itself is pretty awful given how much it panders with fanservice and the writing is pretty bad, too.

Another Homestuck here- the first five acts honestly compromise an amazing story with a unique sense of humor that I adore. Act 6 is still okay, but it isn't nearly as cinematic/amazing. I've been reading Homestuck for years, and it's really weird to see how many people who were into things like Hetalia are into Homestuck now... I've always been more of a sci-fi type of person, so when I meet up with Hetalians/kuroshit/whatever people at homestuck meets there are times we can't talk about any other series/films/books/whatever in common... it's a shame

I actually think the manga is very self aware and i like that it's messing with all these call backs to different series and yaoi tropes- but it get kind of tedious when you're reading it as it comes and not in a collected volume. The school arc has been calling back to ciel's dad and that german guy's involvement so I hope we'll get more back story by the end of this session...

Persona series.

I love the entire series, but the fandom has exploded since Persona 4 the Animation. It just bugs me to see all these people now who are think they're big fans of P3&4 just because they've seen that anime and have played Persona 4 Arena. Just noooo.

The fandom didn't use to be that bad either, but now it's full of crazy fangirls who ship Yosuke/Yu (who will always be Souji to me idk not too fond of that name haha) and constantly argue over Kanji and Naoto's identities. My first thought was Hetalia, but it's actually calmed down a bit. The sitgma's not as bad, mostly because the creepy ones are pretty easy to spot.

With that in regard, I'd have to say Vocaloid.
My next two outfits are Vocaloid, but fuck am I not going to any photoshoots. All the other Vocaloid cosplays I see (in person) are generic songs and terrible quality.
I only dabble in the part of the fandom that does song-interpretation, because the rest are pretty much batshit insane.

My only gripe is when some of them identify Persona 4 as a SMT/Megaten game or call themselves an SMT fan because they've played the Devil Survivor games/Persona games. Other than that it doesn't bother me. I just don't affiliate with them. No point either. Hetalia.

I fucking love my fancy-ass pirate France cosplay, it's the biggest and best cosplay I have and I feel so fabulous wearing it, but damn if our fandom isn't still infected with rabid weebs like all get out.

Last year at Sakuracon, there was a Russia who'd had her coat ripped by a Belarus jumping on her back. And the photoshoot was so full of screaming fangirls that most of us couldn't hear which countries were being called up to pose. I also had a Ciel cosplayer sing an entire song to me while I was France because there was a song she knew about the French Revolution.

And Homestuck. I don't care what the fandom does to him, I will always love Bro Strider. He's the only thing that keeps me reading the series.

Just avoid the fans that won't shut up about Daughter/Servant of Evil, and the girls that think that they would like to be in Venomania's harem. If you avoid them, you're good.

I couldn't care less for the shipping, but Ocarina was the first nintendo game my brother ever let me play and I used to play it through for days straight, then I collected all the other games, and regardless of the system, they were all great. I don't understand why you jumped to the conclusion about the Hyrulean Royal family's policy on marriage, it's fictional and I don't recall it ever being mentioned (???). I would give Skyward Sword a shot. I would say it's far from the best, but still a mile better than than the God-awful Twilight Princess.

It gets a little boring because it's kind of repetitive, the motion plus can get annoying, and the fact that it's rated E is worse (the fucking boss in the sandship dungeon looked like a purple Mike Wazowski). But overall it explains a lot about the series, how things came to be, and the characters are fun.

I love Naruto so much, It's sadly one of the only things that makes me happy anymore. I'm into shipping alot, but i try not to shove it down anyone's throat haha I really cant help how badly i love it.

Another Fandom I still love is Yugioh, and as much as i love Yugioh Abridged, and i'm very glad that it brought the fandom back a bit, i'm so pissed off at how annoying the fans are now... It's like the recent fans are just cosplaying from YuGiOh Abridged and dont even really know the actual show (Even if the show did play card games a little too much haha)... Maybe i explained that badly, but it just comes down to the fact that I really cant stand obnoxious people who dont understand social norms or what personal space is...

Pokemon. I have loved it since I was 7. I'm very open about loving Pokemon, it's not really embarrassing. What I don't tell them, however, is that I ship Ash/Gary (and Red/Blue ofc). Actually majority of them don't even know I like SA and Yaoi. Did I mention Shota?
I've done a shitty Ash cosplay and dressed up as Pikachu for Halloween before, but nothing serious. I would totally be down to get another girl and we could both dress as Red and Blue and hold hands and be obnoxious and take some Red/Blue shipping pics. But there's no way (read: never, ever) I would do that.

Yet I haaaaate so so much of it.
I'm cosplaying Pinkie Pie this summer in her Gala dress. I'd be worried about the bronys but they tend to be self absorbed enough I doubt I'll even show up as a blip on their radar.

But it's like... I hate the fandom and I dont. I cant hate the bronies because I find it charming that these guys like the show and who am I to say they cant, and some of them are really gracious about it and not spilling spaghetti all over themselves, tends to be the ones that are a smidge older. And those who do have social problems I'm kinda glad they found an outlet to grow through.

But holy hell. Every one says that the brony fandom creates lots of art... but all the shitty art man.... I made a hobby out of browsing fim fiction and laughing at reviewers tearing apart bad self insert fan fics. Like you thought finding a mary sue in other fiction is easy, here every other story is "(Male name here, though sometimes female) Wakes up to find themselves in ponyvill! What ever will they do?" and is always tagged as romance.

But some of the fan fic isnt so bad if you find a funny one, and some of the fan art is cool and I like some of the song remix's (even if I'm not a big techno fan)

Kingdom hearts

I despise the direction the games have been going in and I've always hated the fanbase but I've sunk so much time into the series I just can't stop

I like Zelda and Hetalia. I basically hide the fact I watch any anime or am a big fan of anything because I come from Bogan County. I love overthinking and speculating about series I like and as far as I'm concerned, as long as you're relatively mature and discreet about it, I don't care.

But from the sounds of it I might be one of those horrible obnoxious fans, so this may all be useless on my part.

I like MLP and Adventure Time because I find them genuinely cute funny and entertaining but I'm not involved with the fandoms at all so I guess I'm not really bothered by it except when I encounter large groups of idiots at cons. I basically just watch the shows on TV and buy some merch if I see anything cool. I've never had a series I like ruined for me by jackass fans because I don't get involved in online communities about them.

My Little Pony. I hate the brony fandom nowadays. I just want to watch my little girl cartoons and buy toys and pretend I'm a little girl again.

Vocaloid. I like the songs, the videos, and the character designs. I honestly haven't actually seen terrible things from the fandom personally though, so.. yeah. I'd still like to think bloody Miku was real.

I still read Naruto even though I see it's many flaws and am aware of (and was once a part of) the bad fanbase.

I used to be a huge AT buff. I tried to talk about it with my (only) friend but she said AT was weird and stupid. Now after discovering tumblr (kill me) she suddenly loves it and talks about Fionna and Cake all the time. She has a habit of inserting herself into her favorite female characters to reflect her fantasies and it's leaking into fucking everything we discuss, including all kinds of anime, games and some other shows. She has seen literally two episodes of the entire show but she talks about it constantly and obsessives over the R63 fanart. She's even adopted the tumblr typing style. You know the one.

I love MLP and I own a bunch of merch but I'm always afraid that potential anime-loving friends will judge me based around the shit they've seen on the internet.

I love Yana Toboso's work and I find her sense of humor cute, but the Kuroshitsuji anime was a trainwreck. I don't mean the Code Geass kind of fun trainwreck either, I mean the "millions are dead and nobody is laughing" kind. I'm putting my faith in her that she'll pull us out of this rough time with a good end to this arc.

I love Hetalia for the content it produces but I stay away from the fandom outside 4chan. In fact, the only fandoms I've touched are the ones found here. You guys are great.

My guilty pleasures are Kuroshits, RoTG, HP, and comics.

For Kuroshits, I haven't really kept up with the manga lately, but the second season of the show was absolute mind-fuckery and I stopped following mid-way through. Some fansgirls/boys are insane. Luckily most people have been very polite when I cosplayed Ciel and Drocell (who has a weird following). That said, there seem to be either really stunning cosplays or really bad ones. Really awesome people/cosplayers or the really insane/annoying ones. There's no middle-ground in Kuroshitsuji.

RoTG, still new but it is somewhat hard to wade through the Tumblr tags and DA submissions of utter shit and KEKEKE JACK x PITCH YAOI fanfics and fanart before finding the few really nice cosplay or art gems.

HP, nuff said. Insane fans are insane but I still really enjoyed the books and the films.

And finally, I think you guys know what I mean about comics. I've been a casual reader for years but with the sudden bumper crop of comic-to-movies has brought on a lot more comic cosplay, which is totally cool until people started trying to be so U-NIQUE and skankifying everything and doing fem! versions of characters, some of which already exist but no, people have to go above and beyond to skankify.

I adore the series so much and I've been in the fandom for so long I don't think I'll ever be able to leave. Especially with the new anime coming out. It's calmed down a bit but I'm always embarrassed to admit I cosplay from it/am a fan of it when I'm talking to people while in a vidya cosplay or anyone else really that ISN'T a fan of Hetalia due to the stigma of it.

It's mean but I'm so glad a lot of the worse fans went to homestuck.

My Little Pony. Only a handful of people know I watch it. Either close friends, people at cons, or this one time when some guys were picking on an autistic kid for drawing Rainbow Dash.
But regardless of fandom, I wouldn't tell people I watch MLP anyway, as you could probably imagine, seeing that I'm your average, 20 year-old guy studying for engineering and spending time in the gym. But it makes me smile, and I've lightened up a lot since then.

I really like Tales of game but I don't tell anyone because the local fandom is most definately retarded and I have friends that would try to take me to their meetups.

Homestuck and a little of MLP. I've been in Homestuck for nearly two years now, but holy shit am I losing interest in it. I've thought a lot about leaving the fandom, but haven't mostly for the fact that before this, my (first) fandom was Hetalia around its height and I'd feel too weird not to be in a big fandom.

I'm too embarrassed to admit that I'm into MLP, partially because MLP fans are at least somehow psychotic, but mostly because two IRL friends are ass-deep in the fandom and I'm trying to keep myself out of it for my own sake.

I figured Pitch wasn't ~*kawaii*~ enough to be shipping material. Color me surprised. I haven't heard any cosplay horror stories from the RotG fandom yet, so I guess I'm safe to wear Pitch...

Anyway, I guess my guilty pleasure would be the second season of Kuroshitsuji, but it's really only because of Claude. He's such an absolute bastard, he's convincingly demonic in his behavior and his agenda, and it was finally nice to have a character that was Sebastian's equal. There was so much potential for so much conflict and interaction, but it just never happened and it went to shit.
Either way, no matter how awful the fandom gets, I think I'll always keep an eye on the series. I got into it mostly because it seemed like a less stressful version of Godchild.

I stopped reading it after Hazel's arc, and also because it was taking them forever to get to India...

Yaoi, m//, yaoi in general. I can't help it. I grew up in the fandom generation of fanzines and (upon the invention of the net) web rings. It was my guilty pleasure, and and still is. I don't care how obnoxious, loud, or creepy the adverage yaoi fan is. I will still go to the yaoi panels, roleplay my slash online, and Cosplay female characters from my favorite yaoi series. I don't crossplay, but there are enough non-romantic female characters to go around.

Supposedly, Blast is the last arc so it'll FINALLY end after this, but she keeps releasing chapters for side stories instead (like the Gaiden oneshot she just released), plus there's Ibun, and her other manga series on top of that. I'm just trying to hold on to hope; if I've made it this long, I can hold out as long as people are still translating.

The story quality has never gone down though, in my opinion; that's the thing that's kept me reading. And while her art was shaky during her illness pre-surgery, it's back to full strength now.

Okay, knowing it is nearing its end is weirdly comforting. I just didn't have the energy for like a 10 year long shounen manga fest or anything like that. And even if she did a lot of side stories, they were usually always pretty interesting, so that was a plus.

And I'm glad the plot hasn't taken a nose dive. I was all over Hitman Reborn up until the final arcs, and it just ended so badly.

God, way to rekindle my love for this series, anon. Guess I'll be finishing my cosplayer for summer after all.

Guilty pleasures oh boy here we go
Yaoi, HotD, bleach, Naruto, and Kingdom Hearts

I find a lot of weeby things related to KH, bleach and naruto. I honestly enjoy the story line in the naruto manga. Im not a big fan of the anime but its alright. Bleach is also similar in annoyance to naruto but not nearly as much. The fanbase for bleach seems more um..calm? Than the naruto one but meh I like the story and characters. KH on the other hand I liked because of a yaoi pairing then got into the games and I regret nothing ( if you must know its axel roxas). As for HotD if you know of it which I'd be surprised if you didnt then you know why it is a guilty pleasure.

I am actually pretty tolerant of what people ship and can see why people like that pairing, but I think the aspect of Jack x Pitch that is most disturbing is the really shitty fanart of it. I mean "exceptionally bad but still gets a ton of praise and favs just because of the pairing" shit. If it were at least nice-looking fanarts I smile and say, "Not my cup of tea, but that's a pretty awesome picture someone took the time to craft." but no... shit-tier crayons/colored pencil/lined notebook paper doodles. It almost makes me want to leave the DA groups I'm in, but I still want to hang on for the really nice things that also make their way through.

The lined paper drawings creep me out especially since I'm a teacher and I can totally visualize any one of my idiot students doodling that terribad yaoi on a sheet of paper instead of listening to me tell them exactly what to study and what the questions are on tomorrow's test.

The Tales fandom has its share of retards but there are a number of mature/typically older fans who are pretty chill. One of my friends is a pretty big fan who cosplays from a lot of the Tales games and she doesn't seem to have much trouble at gatherings. She just avoids the obvious retards and is really laid back about everything. You could give it a try sometime and just be choosy about which fans you talk to. I know Otakon has a rather large gathering.

I don't even fallow/like/care about naruto any more, but holy fuck that shit is my crack.

Vampire Knight. It's basically the twilight of anime but I enjoyed it enough to where I cosplay as Zero now. The fandom/cosplay is OK i guess; typical fan girl stuff.

Naruto. I really love Naruto and I still do.. but I'll be glad when it's done. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely enjoying the ride but I'm ready to get to the destination already! TOO MANY Naruto shipuden cosplays srsly. Also, I hate sandals and people who wear sandals. cover your fucking toes

Man, can someone explain the appeal of Sesshomaru to me? There are a billion and one fangirls who love him, but in my eyes he has the personality and appeal of boiled cardboard. He's pretty and overpowered and that's about all he has got. I've never understood the love for him at all; not as a 13-year old weaboo obsessed with the series, and not now.

Remove the tail, make very minor tweaks to personality and looks, and you've got Sebastian from Black Butler.

I can share your pain abit. I hate the LoZ fandom aswell. Mostly cause all thinks OoT is the greatest game ever without actually giving reasons to why it is so good. There is a Ganondorf (Super skinny), Link and Zelda that goes on most cons around here and they are pretty decent. The costumes looks good but I don't really feel like talking with them. They just have this weird feel around them.

I cosplay Grell aswell (One out of three males where I'm from) and I am sad to hear this. I borrowed the cosplay from a friend because people wanted me to cosplay him but didn't feel like making it so. Only a couple of things, my friend forgot to tell me to bring a shirt but it's okay. I had a white shirt so it kinda worked, also no chainsaw. Meh, too big to bring with him maybe. No glasses, wait..what. Ok, ok. I got to borrow a red pair of glasses from a friend so no damage done. The wig...By tall that is holy and alive what teh fuck have you done with it??! My friend had to cut it and comb it for almost two hours before it just looked awful but it had to do. Can try to get a pic of it later. The actual clothing I got to borrow? Absolutely flawless but still that god damn freaking wig.

My own guilty pleasures. Hmm, LOTR. maybe it isn't as bad as in other countries but here it's fucking terrible.

Never knew LotR had a bad rep anywhere. A lot of people probably wouldn't recognize a majority of characters from outside the movies.
At best, I'd just expect everyone to call him a Nazgul, but at least they'd know he was that one guy from LotR.
Though I am disappointed in the LotR cosplayers not even knowing who the Witch King is... Was he dressed as a Nazgul, or in human form?

In the manga, however, it's an 8-foot tail that he drapes over his shoulder so it doesn't drag on the ground. The only way to mortally wound him is to injure his tail.

As I am rewatching Inuyasha (I'm determined to finish the whole thing, no matter what) I can vouch for the first season being legitimately good, especially the first dozen or so episodes. It had a great atmosphere, and the art is really nice too. In my opinion it all starts to fall apart after Naraku becomes a major character, because he's (again, in my opinon) boring and shitty. I liked it best when they were travelling around fighting random demon-of-the-day to get shards instead of Naraku's same, redundant cronies every other episode.

I actually found the beginning to be kinda annoying. But yeah, the first anime wasn't that great to begin with. Imho Takahashi managed to fuck the manga up too with all the love shit between InuYasha, Kagome, Kouga and Kikyou. That and all the canon bashing InuYasha got (like the sit command) and Kagomes overall shitty character.

Still, I can't help but like this show. It was my first anime and will stay one of my guilty pleasures.

I ate that shit up when I was younger and my neighbor always wanted to LARP from it. I thought that was a little weird but she was like nah nah my friend does this all the time.

She brought said friend over to play once and they got into a huge argument because she said she was going to marry Sesshomaru and my neighbor said you can't marry anime characters and she got super mad.

I always had an extremely Freudian affinity as a kid for characters portrayed as perverts so I thought Miroku was fucking cool. I was also gay for Sango and felt weird about liking a female character in a different way than normal.

As bad as it was, it was also one of the first anime I ever saw, alongside Pokemon. First episode I saw was at a friend's house. He fell asleep in the first few minutes. It was the episode when the flea possesses Inuyasha. I still remember being completely clueless, but wanting to see more.

Someday I'll gather the courage to re-watch it all, for old time's sake.
God, I still have a few of the trading cards around here somewhere. I actually got Sesshomaru when I only ever bought like 40 cards, total. Was supposed to be some super-rare card, too.

Kaliedo Star. Like I dont even think it has a fandom. But it's just SO BAD. And I dont even like it un ironically and I have no idea why it's so compulsively watchable for me. Maybe because I'm into the circus arts, but that just makes it worse since I keep thinking it's so horrid and so unrealistic to the point of blasphemy. Yet I still watch it, even though it frustrates me. Sometimes I wonder if I'm a masochist for enjoy such a bad show.

I've considered cosplaying it since some of the costumes are pretty cool, and I never see much cosplay of it anyways.

Anyways, anime wise my guilty pleasure is those cheesy magical girl shows. Cyber Team in Akihabara, DoReMi, and anything else. I've probably seen almost every cheesy magical girl animu.

And fandom/weaboo wise, I'm a shameless shipper. If a show has a decent slash pairing and the fandom isn't too insane I'll watch the show. It's almost gone from anime nowadays, but I've moved on to tv and film. I stay the fuck away from those insane fandoms/shippers though, holy fuck.

Why does everybody hate Twilight Princess so much? I loved that game.

I used to really love Fruits Basket... It was a gateway anime.

If we're not just talking about anime, then my all time favorite guilty show is "Supernatural".
The fandom is insane, especially the shippers, and gat damn, If I see another nerdy kid put antlers on his head and call it a "Sam cosplay" or another annoying girl put a trenchcoat on and call it "girl Cas cosplay" I will cut them.

Tiger & Bunny. The show is enjoyable as fuck (a buddy-cop superhero anime - come on, that's a winning formula right there), and it has some really nice armor and suit designs that would make for incredible cosplays, but most of the fandom is more interested in Kotetsu-and-Barnaby buttsex and shitty Ivan cosplays.

I wouldn't worry about it, when I cosplayed Beast hardly anyone knew who I was even with the rest of the group. It's a relief to not get mauled for being one of the fangirl favourites, but also a little depressing to take pictures with a Ciel who doesn't even know who you are.
