It's come to our attention that Apple has removed most if not all unofficial 4chan browsing apps from the iOS App Store. Unfortunately due to their policies, it's unlikely that they will be re-added, or that an official app will come to the App Store.

As part of our HTML5 code overhaul, we added a spiffy mobile view that works great on iOS and Android devices. Just access any of the boards as you normally would, and it will load automatically. You can also disable it via a link a the bottom of the page. While this is not a 100% replacement for a native app, it's a start, and fortunately Apple will support file uploads in iOS 6 which is due out this fall.

Enjoy!

How can you even interact with each other being the horribly judgmental people you are?

Or do you keep that to yourself in public and pretend that the drama never happened?

Yes/I guess. Acquaintances? I don't consider people major friends unless they're someone I actually hang out with on a normal basis. I don't think the internet counts.

I do have fun at seagull meetups. I've met lots of awesome, chill people, and I like seeing them from con to con. A lot of seagulls are also my friends outside of cons, so it's always good to see them.
>Any seagulls related stories?
My very first meetup was...Fanime '10, I think. I didn't really know anybody and I was too shy to approach anyone, and then I ran into Tim and I was like "OH THANK GOD, SOMEONE I KNOW" and then we awkward turtled around the edges for a while. Then someone recognized her and we were drawn in to the group and everyone was really nice and welcoming. After the initial awkwardness it was fun, and ever since then I've gotten to know more people so meetups get more fun each time.

But you were looking for drama, right? Uhm....this one time, Hanyaan ate a puppy. True story.

>>
>Have you been to one?

It was okay, and sure.
>Any seagulls related stories?
Someone actually brought 50 dismembered dicks to the gathering and we sucked them all. Who they belonged to, we will probably never know.
>>
Haven't been to a meetup, but I have met a couple of individual seagulls before. Nice people.

Also, planning on going to AX /cgl/ meetup in a week
>>

>Did like it? Did you make new friends?

>Any seagulls related stories?
I thought you guys were cool online but you when i finally got to meet /cgl/ in person, you were all just a bunch of weirdos and one dude asked me if he wanted to smoke weed with him back in his hotel room. I was 18 at the time and I would never go to one again.
>>
>Have you been to one?
Yes, a few
>Did like it? Did you make new friends?
It was okay. Well I met people prior to the cgl gathering so I suppose so. IDK though, the more "well-known trips" were very loud/obnoxious (I'm assuming drunk) so I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I just kind of talked to the friends I knew prior (mostly because of g+).
>Any seagulls related stories?
I've made quite a few good friends because of cgl, which is pretty cool.

>Did like it? Did you make new friends?
I had a lot of fun! Meeting people was awesome! Dunno if we are friends or not but if we are that's awesome.

>Any seagulls related stories?
Um not really. We hung out and played a card game I don't remember but it was fun. A lot of people aren't what I thought they were going to be to be honest. Overall was a really fun time, wish I could have stayed later but I was rooming with a bunch of other people and didn't want to disturb them by coming in late.

Always! There's been a few that were less than anything spectacular, but always a good time regardless.

>Any seagulls related stories?
Um. All of the meet-ups I had been to were pretty small up until ALA and Fanime recently. I don't really remember much of the Fanime one besides being tipsy and clinging to every waifu I could find because the amount of people scared me. Oh and then getting lots of cookies.

It's not the world's fault you have aspergers.
>>
>Have you been to one?
Yes, both as a tripfag and anon.

>Did like it? Did you make new friends?
Loved it, made plenty of new friends. No drama besides someone being a little jealous but that was cleared up.

>Any seagulls related stories?
Plenty, but they're more of inside jokes and I'd rather not circlejerk. I've already told the Weeaboo Todd stories, as well. From the Anime Iowa meetup I learned a little about Lolita, which was awesome.
>>
>>5981610
At my meet-up the only cool people were the anons who weren't trashed as fuck. In fact, the only people actually WEARING costumes were anons.

Tripfags. Spend all day posting in shit threads instead of working on costumes. Nice.

From the sound of a lot of these, it makes me very happy to go to Texas meet ups with all that southern hospitality. I know we don't have as many people, but I feel as if ours go much better and are more enjoyable that most of the people's experiences on here.

The one time there was one in my city it was hyped to hell. A bunch of people promised to go. In the end only myself, maryjane and 2 other bro's actually "showed up". We stopped at the meet spot for a few minutes, nobody new appeared so we all left about our business. There hasn't been a /cgl/ meet in this city since.

>Any seagulls related stories?
I went to that one in the picture actually~ It was mostly just talking and I left for a bit because I had something to do. Everyone was really nice. I came back but most people left, but I met up with some of them in the convention itself. I had fun sitting in the hall afterwards, and getting kicked out, lol. Then a smaller group of us went to Denny's laughed about Mistry's shirt and we had so so much fun just talking, and moving tables to meet others. There was no drama to be had and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves. (:
>>
>>5981628

>>
So many people have negative experiences. I don't understand it, when the meetup turns boring or shitty, does no one speak up and suggest something fun to do?

Pretty much all of the meetups in Toronto have been successful, and yes, anons come to them.

I think it's important to have a pre-planned activity or theme before you organize anything, in addition to back up plans. Awkwardness is only helped by being outgoing and actually talking. I think anyone who's had a bad meetup experience didn't try to have fun in the first place
>>

>>
>>5981680
The ones I've been to were all good times.

I think it's seriously just anon's mad about that whole "no one can be friends" thing and just trying to start shit.
>>
The cgl meetups I've been to pretty much sucked. I have made some cgl friends at cons but that's more thanks to chance than by merit of the actual meetups.
>>
Tripfags exaggerate the "fun" of /cgl/ meetups because they want to come back and say "DUDE I WAS THERE SHIT WAS SO CASH PLEASE NOTICE ME."

The reality is that /cgl/ meetups are just a bunch of random people who really don't know each other that well forcing themselves to be social in the hopes of feeling included in some kind of special club. You'd probably have more fun just meeting random people at the con, since there'd be less attention whoring.
>>
>>5981618

Every meetup I was at we introduced ourselves with our first names. No trips were said. Thursday it was "Hey, everyone say your name at the same time" thing. The only time I was like "what's your trip/anon?" was if it was in the hotel room I was in, due to wanting to make sure we didn't let strangers in. Otherwise everyone referred to each other as their first names.

>Have you been to one?
I've been to a couple in the GTA. At cons and casual meetups.
>Did like it? Did you make new friends?
I really did. The people in the Toronto /cgl/ community are so nice. I've made a couple new friends, I don't like in Toronto itself so I don't get to hang out with them as frequently as some do, but it's real fun when I get the chance.
>Any seagulls related stories?
The first meetup I went to was after pulling an all-nighter in the city, and we decided to play Cards Against Humanity. Best icebreaker ever.

I look forward to the meetup at Otakon, it will be nice to meet /cgl/ people from another country :)

Seagull meetups can be fun. It's all at how you look at things. If you don't want to have fun, OF COURSE YOU'RE NOT GOING TO ENJOY YOURSELF.

Sometimes parties aren't all about booze and titty and ass and pot. Sometimes they're just a bunch of people getting together and having a good time. If a meetup or party isn't your thing, you can always leave and find something interesting to do on your own.

I will say that the Fanime meetup was kind of redonk. I ran out of cookies within five minutes and felt kind of bad when I had to tell people that they weren't getting a cookie. Everything else was cool, though. :3

Well I always find meetups to be really full of people and crowds are uhgghghh so I'm a little uncomfortable with all that. That said I do meet friends there when a find one or two people to talk to.
>Any seagulls related stories?
I have a few, but they'd just sound like circlejerk stories. Many involve God making me facepalm at his behaviour(The first time he saw me he almost clipped me with his car for fun). And going to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles with a bunch of awesome people was great! But I like all the seagulls I have met and enjoyed the time we hung out.
>>
I met awesome people at the one I went to. I almost never use /cgl/ but I'm here since it's getting so close to Ota. Normally I can't deal with all the hatred and judgmental people that this place attracts because I am generally a very very chill person.
I was worried the meet would be full of horrible people, but actually it was only awesome ones who came. I'm pretty good friends with some of them now.

Hilariously, afterwords I saw people shitposting here about how it was stupid since it was at a bar and they were sooo far above going to a bar. They were... mad we were having fun. Truly.
I'll never go to one that's not at a bar or involves copious amounts of alcohol. Bitchy people apparently don't go to bars since it's below them or something. Also it automatically removes the worst offenders of cattyness, who tend to be under 21, in my experience.

Alright Anon. Let me tell you this really interesting story!

If you date someone that is not Mika, then you are saying that you are not interested anymore right?
I will admit it was my fault for not checking up on her status to see if she was still attached to her current bf at the time. That was my bad.

But you can't date someone else and still call 'dibs' on another. At least, not in most people's worlds.

Just wanted to set that straight.

Also
>That's even before the stories of how your ex-boyfriends were actually her former friend's boyfriends at the time.

As far as I know, none of my exes had dated any of my friends/friends of friends when I was involved with them? You must be confused.

Here have a baby.

lol I see desu (and unfortunately I know a handful of people in the photo), I remember seeing him with his penis gun he was trying to peacebond one night.

But yes, I have been to /cgl/ meetups. I stay Anonymous since I don't ever consider being a tripfag. It was enjoyable, except to crowded ALA taco party. Think I went to Denny's that night?

I know /cgl/ gathering afterparties get a bit crazy (but mostly loud), too. I somehow got into a party with "known" cosplayers and photographers before too and I hear those go even crazier.
>>
>>5981987
>"known" cosplayers and photographers

Hey Valle, they weren't telling people to behav, we had to control noise levels because the floor we were on was for airline workers and we couldn't disturb them. I work cons and if there is anything I do it is be polite about conditions and treat the patrons with respect. And if anyone was being rude under my staff I should be informed so it doesn't happen again.

Ala 2013 taco party will be better now that we know what we'll be dealing with in terms of people and food amount. AND IT WON'T BE FAST FOOD, We will be having fresh ingredients and do it yourself stations.
>>
>Have you been to one?
I've been to uh. 3? I think? Not sure.
>Did like it? Did you make new friends?
Yep. The first two I was dragged to by friends who were friends with /cgl/ers, I felt awkward because my friend knew everyone there but after I got to know them it was great! The latest one I went to alone and it was great as well! Usually people try to go somewhere cheap to eat and then hang around the con center. If you have an older crowd, some meet up later at a nearby bar or hotel bar. I've actually never been to a con room party so I can't tell you anything about that (I don't know if I just repel the party-goers or give off straight-edge vibes, derp)
>Any seagulls related stories?
Uh. Nothing that comes to mind. The meetups were pretty averagemode. Trips were nice, if a bit closed off to newbies, people unrelated would come into the group and hang around, having no idea what cgl was.

Honestly I try and find or plan a meetup at every con I go to.

I'm from California and I go to all the big California cons and so I know quite a few tripfags and party with them occasionally since our social circles overlap. I'm mentioning this to get it out of the way that I'm not a tripfag hater and I think a lot of the tripfags are bros.

I've never officially been to the /cgl/ gathering, but the few times I have passed by, it was pretty assburgers and just as loud and annoying as any given Homestuck gathering. The non-trip friends I have that attend the gatherings only stick around for 15 minutes because of the clash of obnoxiousness vs spaghettis. I still think most of the trips are bros, but there's no denying that the gatherings are, from what I've seen, a hot mess. I went to the Taco Party at ALA and everyone was hungry and not having fun and people weren't even really talking to each other, just playing videogames. And of course, the people at the door were dicks.
>>
>Have you been to one?
Yep, I just went to my first one a few months ago and am hoping to go to another in the future.

>Did you like it? Did you make new friends?
I had a really great time and was glad I went. It was a small meetup but I liked the size. I don't think I made any friends but I had fun hanging out with everyone. I'm really terrible in groups and get super shy, so I know it's my fault for not making friends. Everyone else there was very chill and nice about it though. Some people in particular, some anons and a trip, made me feel really included despite my shyness, which I thought was really nice. Maybe if I go to another meetup it'll be easier to talk to them if I see them again. Also, maybe it was just because our meet was small, but I'm anon and I didn't feel weird about not being a trip or anything. It was really chill.

>Any seagulls related stories?
I don't know what kind of stories you're looking for, but I definitely don't have any drama ones to share.

I really like meet ups since I don't have any friends who are into cosplay or cons any more. Meet ups are a nice way for me to meet new friends. The seagulls who regularly turn up to meets are all sound as can be.
>Any seagulls related stories?
The Sunday meet at last May's London Expo didn't go to well. Last Chilled with a Dante cosplaying anon for a bit, an anon I'd met before and her friends drew me the sign when I went inside to grab a drink and another seagull said Hi as I was leaving. Serious question. How often do people hook up? (Besides the trips who are in their e-relationships).

I somehow find the idea of hooking up with somebody, never talking to them again, but still actually continuing to talk to them without them knowing that it's you for the rest of the year. No idea why, but it's hot.

If I wanted to go to a cgl meetup...How do I find the meetup? I don't recognize tripfags or whatever. So does someone hold up a sign or some shit? Or are the meetups only for tripfags
>>
>>5983767
I think it is. There's nothing left after that but decline, senility, and death.
Let's face it Valle, we're old.

My mom used to work as an office manager for startups during the Silicon Valley boom, and she had the hardest time finding transportation for all of the guys working there because none of the wunderkinds were old enough to rent a car. Go figure.
>>
>>5983976
Usually sometimes people hold up a sign saying SEAGULLS, or you'd recognise someone from their cosplay from them posting on here. That's usually how it goes down over here anyway.
>>
>>5983343
You should go! Texas seagulls are pretty awesome.

The last couple that I went, I just went to dinner with everyone and didn't get into the whole drinking thing (not that I drink anyways), but I had a lot of fun.

Just to clear things up, the taco party was an official con event, so they couldn't officially have alcohol. And thus, the security was regular con staff. They were being dicks to me too but I was too far gone to care. I did host an actual party after the cgl meet, pic related.

>Have you been to one?
Yeah. Been helping host them for a while.
>Did like it? Did you make new friends?
Yup. Though I wanna meet everyone and there are always anons in the background awkward who dont wanna socialize.
>Any seagulls related stories?
Wheelbarrow rave of the pokemon men vs. Maguma and someone (I think Duralath) was funny.

Two meetups this time, Fri at 9pm, Sat at 12 pm for accommodating commuters.

no they would just laugh at my cosplay and chubby thighs

Oh happy fucking day. I see her at cons and just hate her with a burning passion. Either it's the makeup she cakes on, her mom(?) walking around with her, or her Stocking cosplay. Maybe all of those things, assuming it's who I'm thinking it is.
>>
>>5984587
This. I swear to god looking at the pics explains so much of the drama in FL. Almost none of them cosplay AND they're fat neckbeards.
>>
>>5984587

It was pretty late so most people had changed out of their cosplays by that point.

And also, uh, fun fact, at that meetup a group completely unrelated to /cgl/ tagged along, they were bros, and are 4 or 5 people of that picture?

People can get banned for saying stuff like that?
>>
>>5985456
Said they were underage. That's what got them banned.
>>
>>5985456
Being underaged is a bannable offense. Saying you're underaged is admitting to breaking the universal rules. So yes, you can.

>Have you been to one?
I don't go to the ones held at cons because I'm usually too busy with other plans I made with my group. However, I do always go to /cg+l/ meets. Maybe someday, I will attend a con gathering... boo...
>Did like it? Did you make new friends?
I always enjoy myself with seagulls, they're easily some of the nicest, most fun people ever. Always making me laugh and shit, man.
>Any seagulls related stories?
Not really... but I did meet Charizard and Red Dickies on the streets during Fanime and I accidently mistook Red for God because of the Superman shirt. I'M STILL REALLY SORRY RED I DIDN'T MEAN TO I STILL FEEL REALLY DUMB. I love you guys.
