I was just about to make this thread.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to cosplay this year. Money's getting tight and I haven't ordered/started on my costume yet and all that. If I do go, I'll be the fat, manly Ranmaru Mori running about, yeah. [spoilersdontworkl]Laugh it up fuzzball.[/spoilersdontwork]

And am I the only one pissed that we only know two of the guests so far? Didn't Otakon reveal them, like, within three months of the con? I know Stephanie Sheh was a last minute addition last year but other than that...

Agreeing. Though it's only $5 more than last year, there isn't really anything there that can really justify the roundtrip flight, hotel, reg, and everything else.

I really wanted to go for a day to see friends and the like, since I'm going to SDCC this year I can't even TRY to justify spending 70 at otakon this year. I don't get why they aren't doing day passes, can anyone explain that?

Doesn't help the programming last year and the year before weren't worth the money at all...

Not going this year. The registration price doesn't justify the content at the convention. They need to improve a lot of things to justify the price increase. I can go to lots of other, better cons that are of equal or lesser price than Otakon.

I'm really only going because I can't afford to go too far out of town for a con yet, so I get to go to all of 2-3 a year. With these prices, though, I'll end up not being able to go to AUSA. Which... Would probably make me cry if, like, Laura Bailey really does go to AUSA...

Considering everyone still has no clue about the fashion show, probably not. We'll see.
Also the lolitas I've met at Otakon were a mixed bundle. I met kitsune neko(I think that's her name?) in the bathroom and she was totally awesome.
Then I went to the dealer's room, and some fucking AP brats literally shoved me to look at the btssb table and h.naoto shit. Fucking 16 year olds.
