The Oishii! Project is a net idol group created and managed by Dansa, Beckii Cruel, LoliChiiDesu, and a producer. There are currently 26 members, 8 in a debut group called Oishii! Ichigo (including KimonoTime and MoeTwinstyle), and 16 "Mini Cherries", which are basically like "trainees" in an idol agency. In around 6 months (I believe?) the 16 Mini Cherries will debut in their own "fruit groups" like Oishii! Ichigo, 6 girls in a group. Then auditions will be held for 6 more Mini Cherries to train in November of this year.

I agree, there are some girls who are just clearly better singers than others (batblush and chikagegodo from the first wave, KimonoTime in Ichigo obv, haven't listened to the other cherries yet, but I'm pretty sure batblush said she was actually classically trained) but I don't think they're just picking based on singing.

There's probably a lot of aspects to consider when choosing a girl, because idols aren't really just "singers".

But yeah, honestly I can't see why anyone would choose Moony, she's not pretty and she comes off REALLY weeby. But not all the girls are like that, most seem really normal.

I like batblush a lot, we were actually talking about her in the last thread. She needs some improvement on her image, but she's cute and she's got a great voice, so I think she's got a lot of potential. Chikagegodo seems to be fairly popular too.

I think Moony has a fair amount of supporters as well, but she seems to have just as many haters so it's hard to tell.

Yeah, me and some other anons were just sort of tossing the idea around since she's got a very cute face but she has no "idolish" clothes. She's sort of behind a lot of the other cherries even though I think she could surpass them with some changes, so we wanted to help.

Here are my thoughts on why they chose Moony: it's better to overact than to under act. They could easily tell her to tone down the weeb voice. Her voice, weird or not, has a color to it. Mixed in with other voices I can see it giving more energy to the music.
