I'm getting more and more disillusioned the more I conscious I become that anime is made for japanese manchildren seeking self-fulfillment fantasies where lolis and teenage girls are inserted into everything no tact or explanation. That, and the fact while there's plenty of good anime, many of them suffer from the same forced cliches that prevent the series from fully exploring the themes and concepts of the series.

    Few examples?

Zero No Tsukaima. Great, fantastic setting/plot idea. Poorly executed, with many concepts being ignored in favor of harem anime hijinks. I heard the light novel is better, though.

Fate/Zero & Stay Night. The writer actually seemed to have done some research on the heroic spirits. But alot of the character designs are just poor and animized. Weapon designs tend to be horrible. King Arthur being a 15 or 16 yr old girl? Fine, whatever. But that wasn't the end of it. The majority of the cast is actually Japanese despite the fact that Japan was chosen for being a backwater country by Magus standards. Then there's some silly reasoning of why modern heroic spirits can't really exist because of modern weapons. Except, back then, you had alot more powerful humans (with the favor of Gods and even having divine blood) just because less humans existed. And they were capable of using Noble Phantasms, which could kill an army with a single swing. Ironically, Archer is probably the only truly heroic spirit, becoming one more through merit and skill than hax.

And Ore no Imōto? Obviously a wish-fulfillment anime, where a perfect and beautiful mary sue is secretly a huge otaku who loves lolicon. Kirino doesn't really develop as a character and she gets everything handed to her on a silver platter by her masochistic brother. They don't really explore, say, how the brother has been living in the shadow of his sister or other themes.

I'm just irritated by the fact many of these anime series are good and enjoyable, but they have such silly flaws.

    Cool shitty thread OP.
    >> Anonymous 11/27/11(Sun)10:25 No.57640640
That's cool. I just like anime because of all the reasons you mentioned.

    Two paths:
You either ignore them and gobble them like the nips do or you search for better mango.
Recommendation threads are good except for the Boku no Pico trolls.

    >ZnT
Yes, the LN is better. Way better. ZnT is an example of J.C. Staff being J.C. Staff, particularly as far as the third season is concerned.
That said, its main selling point is a flat chested tsundere voiced by Rie. If you've got a problem with those kinds of things, why are you watching ZnT?

    >Fate
Nothing in the nasuverse makes sense, because it's written with the rule of cool in mind. Internal consistency takes a back seat to shit that sounds cool.

    >Ore no Imouto
    >watch a show named "my little sister can't be this cute"
    >complain when it's about the little sister being cute

If only she was being cute and not being a huge bitch.

    It's more like

    >Watch a show named "My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute"
    >Complain when it's about the little sister and why she can't be cute
    >> Anonymous 11/27/11(Sun)10:40 No.57641058
    >>57640800
Yeah. She was just a bitchy tsundere who never changed and forced everyone to revolve around her mary sue self.

Too bad I like those VNs/LNs/anime for the reasons you like them AND dislike them.

Of course, I could be replying to pasta.

    >complaining about anime
    >watching shit anime
    That's your problem.
    >> Anonymous 11/27/11(Sun)10:43 No.57641163
everything the OP said was valid, and that's why I can't watch anime without being drunk out of my mind.
    >> Anonymous 11/27/11(Sun)10:45 No.57641225
Man, all those stupid complains about F/SN and F/Z really made me laugh.

    >But alot of the character designs are just poor and animized
    Maybe because it IS anime?
    >Weapon designs tend to be horrible
    Yeah, swords and all that.
    >King Arthur being a 15 or 16 yr old girl?
    Nope.
    >Japan was chosen for being a backwater country by Magus standards
    Wut?
    >that one about modern heroes
Who gives a shit? Besides, Archer, the one you say has skill, is a modern hero.

They actually say in the VN that Fuyuki was chosen because it's in a relatively backwater country to both the Church (since it's such a secular, and obviously not western/christian country) and Magic Association.

Someone post that sad oreimo doujinshi
    >> Anonymous 11/27/11(Sun)10:49 No.57641330
F/SN was originally supposed to have a female protag with a male Servant. They changed it to be able to better market it.
