I
think they didn't expect so many people. There were few panels, only
using two rooms. Everything ended at 7. Could of had more to do. I'm
used to fan anime cons that are like one crazy disorganized yet
entertaining party where you stagger off to sleep at some crazy hour
then try to get back at another. With viewing rooms, video game rooms or
whatnot you can sit and rest in, so there's always something to wander
in and watch.
The lines to get in on Saturday were crazy. The
prereg and buying got sent to the same place at first. One huge line
that went up and down. Then we moved... because they added line space
down stairs. Staff didn't seem to understand why anyone was upset.
It
also could have used, I'm not sure how to say it, more love? Some of
the groups like the ghostbusters and the video game tournament brought
something like a community and sense of hanging out. But then I'm used
to cons where there's a forum everyone has been planning fan meets. Most
of what to do was walk around buying things (lucky I liked the AA and
hall.)
Also room 109 ran out of water.
I still had a lot
of fun, it was just different than I thought it would be, and not well
organized for such a huge crowd in some places. |
