to the huge surge of attention /cgl/ got on New Year, it's also caught
the interest of multiple stalkers. Some do it for classic stalking
reason, e.g. having Voldemort as a waifu, so they try to win over her
heart by going from page 1-15, opening every thread, finding her
nickname in it, and then saving the thread and everything she posts, and
whatnot, as proof of their eternal love. Some do it for the obvious
advantage of schadenfreude - there's a lot of information posted on
/cgl/, personal information too, including names, birthdates and what
not, with multiple pictures provided. It's hard to resist not stealing
your identity when you offer yourself on the platter to the Internet
trolls. It doesn't mean they're trying to hack in your bank account,
sometimes it is as harmless as one guy trolling some forums on the
Internet, by pretending to be black (and enjoying the advantages that
positive racism brings on libertard forums), by posting Maguma's
pictures. And there's also that guy who claims to work for Google, and
being a typical Google employee, he of course cannot resist the urge to
gather any information about you, however insignificant it may be, to
send you ads crafted personally to your taste (and to sell it to FBI, as
they always do). And finally, there's the automatic web crawlers. There
was some thread, maybe a month ago, turns out at least four different
tripfags had their pictures posted on Fuckbooks/dating sites/virus
filled porn sites and so on; however, they're just interested in the
pictures, they don't steal your identity, so worry not, no one's going
to find out that your face can be found on "Ema Watson faceshitting"
websites.
