I'll bite. This was my first-ever "cosplay" - though it really wasn't. I was just dressing up as a ninja with a really shortened hem to be cool. Which it wasn't.

I loved it to death when I was working on it, but I honestly dislike it now. It was sewn quite well - hems were straight and everything, but other than that, it was just. . . A flop.

Also cost over 200 dollars because I used on-sale Japanese Bridal Fabric, and the nice-quality satin. . . My first ever cosplay was a Hunter from L4D.

I was eighteen was that was made. I'm a late bloomer on the cosplay scene.

My first real costume was "Hunk" from RE4. It was mostly easy to find gear, I just had to make red lenses, and sew the pouches to the vest.

I made the staff myself out of cardboard, construction paper, and a broomhandle I wrapped in duct tape. My mom sewed the tunic out of costume satin. I wore it to Anime North 2003, my very first con.

That Anemone was the only other E7 cosplayer there, so I kind of lucked out. This was the only picture I really liked. (We only took about 12 pictures.)
I'll have another cosplay for next Kcon, and should have some more pictures since I've gotten my friends interested in trying cosplay.

The bases are birch plywood.

It's light and I'll be able to stand on it.

And I lucked at as fuck with the bottom parts.

I found a stair banister and the ball on top with the block behind it is the exact size I needed. The base of it when cut in half is also the exact size needed. So I just need to butcher that bitch.

Cut out my pieces, bevel them, paint them and assemble them.

It should be fairly easy - getting measurements was the hardest part. I was drawing dimensions out on my kitchen floor with erasable marker for an hour yesterday.
