    >Propmaker/Tailor that feel thread

That fucking feel when people think you are begging for commissions because you want money, not because you desperately want a project to work on.

That feel when some penniless, foreign, 12 year old wants you to build the most complex and difficult costume you've ever made for as little money as possible.

That feel when you tell them you can't and so they ask how you made the whole thing instead.

That feel when you've been sewing and sewing and sewing and then you realize your sewing machine has been set to base stitch the entire time.

That feel when those awkward corners that you have to iron down to make the seams prettier cause you to burn the tips of your fingers.

That feel when ten thousand pricks when putting in/taking out pins.

    >That fucking feel when she returns with DARK PINK fabric for an Ichigo Cosplay
    >Dark Pink Fabric for Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew

She even brought a reference picture to the fabric store and somehow came out with that. I should have just let Hack-chan do it, but she "doesn't need to draft patterns" she just "cuts things that look right."

On a related note, does anyone know how to lighten fabric evenly? Is it possible? That fabric she gave me is pretty bad.

I lost my ripper in the middle of my last cosplay project. It resulted in so much extra work carefully using my huge shears to cut threads since my tiny clipping scissors traveled with my sister to her dorm room.

Baw, don't hate on it just because you can't visualize things without using a pattern. Some people are really good at it actually, so just because your friend sucks doesn't mean no one does it right. Granted it's definitely a skill, and not everyone can do it...

Your friends sound shitty, good luck.

Actually you can do commissions on Homestuck, but they have to be discreet. you can't advertise that you make Troll horns or Zodiac shirts in the corresponding colors.

    >>5545266
yeah, but this request was for more complex sewn items -- things that i'd want to be credited for if someone were to wear them, which would defeat the purpose of doing the actual transaction discreetly.

I'm more hating on the fact that she thinks she is good at this when she really, really sucks at it. The friend who was asking me to help also brought another "cosplay" from Hack-chan for me to fix. It was literally a cylinder with straps and 6 inches too small for her. Thankfully she brought Hack-chan's scraps too, so there was plenty of fabric to fix it up a little bit. The only reason she irks me so much is that we both started cosplaying together in 2007, and while she's been spewing out 3-4 cosplays per year and I've only been doing 1-2, mine have improved exponentially, while hers have stayed pretty much the same if not worse.

The floors in my house are always disgusting, so cutting/folding my 8 yard petticoats are always a pain. My table can only hold so much.

Also, stop losing your seam rippers. Buy a tool box or something.

I hardly ever lose seam rippers while working on a project because I stocked up on extras after breaking one mid project. The only other seam ripper I had at the time was a heavy duty one that was like trying to rip out stitches with a butter knife. Learned my lesson.
