I had a pair that someone ill-advisedly bought me as a gift. They really are not worth shit. I had sketchers shape-ups, and the way those work is they have a memory-foam-like layer at the bottom that compresses when you put your weight on it. The theory is that this keeps you off balance so that your muscles have to work harder to keep you upright. I don't know if that's broscience or what but they occasionally made my hips hurt, not sure if it was the shoes or just me.

The real issue is that you really aren't supposed to run in them because you can injure your ankles. As a former-mega-fatty who has gotten into running, let me tell you that even if you run slow as hell, one to two miles a day consistently along with healthy diet, you will see results. I've been training for a half marathon, so I usually do between 1-3 miles a day during the week and 3-5 miles saturday and sunday. I improved my diet at the beginning of february and have kept it up with only a handful of "slip-ups" and I am definitely seeing improvement.

tl;dr: forget the shoes, just fucking run. I'd love to live in texas where I could run outdoors all year round, dang it PT.

Most people run early morning or early evening when there's light and it's still cool outside. Even on the east coast (where I am) it's rare to see anyone running/jogging in the middle of the day because of that. Shape ups are a crock, in fact, most doctors hate them because they can do terrible things to you. The point is to keep you off balance so you are over correcting and lose weight, but this is using muscles in ways you aren't supposed to use. They apparently can cause hip fractures (as happened to a waitress who would wear them at work) and other injuries if you use them too often and there is currently a lawsuit against them.

tl:dr - shape ups = shame and cause severe injuries.

She may have a large chin, and supposedly a large nose (looks fine to me), but she doesn't NEED cosmetic surgery to make her attractive. The right clothes, hair and makeup is enough. Don't force yourself to do any cardio that injures or bores you. However you may want to have your form evaluated, if you aren't running "properly" then you may be injuring or stressing your joints as your doctor says. I used to run wrong and I would get sore and tired. Then I watched some youtube videos and make a concious effort to land mid-tread. I finally found out what this IT band everyone was talking about, but again youtube saved the day and now I'm running properly and know the correct stretches to do to avoid injury.

I personally like running because I got into it by doing a small multi-company race. The build up to the race was exciting, and it makes it less boring to have a "deadline" to meet. Also, since I'm no Kenyan, the pressure to "win" isn't there and my only real challenge is to do better than I did last time so I can "compete" at my own pace. It's also just so exhillarating to stand in a crowd of hundreds or even thousands, before the crack of dawn, then they blow the whistle and you're running in a huge pack and it's just a ton of fun. I'm doing my second half marathon (13.1 miles) on Sunday and I'm really excited!

She does have the occasional picture where she looks good, and has used her angles well, she looked great in the ones styled by Miyu, and there have been others here and there that I liked of her (where she isn't making that darn duckface), but I do still think her skin is kind of beyond repair. She just looks haggard most of the time, my guess is that it is partly related to her weight, and partly to poor skin care, and it is really unfortunate for her, but probably mostly her own fault (can't discount genetics entirely).
