yup. Way back in 2007 I was on G4, and when SF IV came out I was on Fox news for some dumb segment about gaming underground when they went to the SF IV Launch party.

Also this past year during a 24Hr DBZ marathon on Nicktoons they showed some clips of Pickboy interviewing some of us at the Funi booth during comic con answering opinion type questions about characters and such that got spliced with footage during commercials. It was some awesome shit~

Aeons ago during the midnight preview of The Dark Knight. I had friends all around dressed as Pengion, Ra's al Ghul, Joker, Riddler, Two Face, and myself as a generic all black cigar in mouth thug. Not sure if it counts given it's not animu but what the hell ever.

inb4 no thought to my costume, I actually had the idea before any of my friends and talked them into it. My idea sparked the whole thing.

Yup, when it was used on a skit show in 2010 here called '7 Days'. They do a section that's called 'Caption This' where they take pictures that have made recent news, and ours was in the national paper for our (one) con.

Comments include: 'Thor's hammer only thing getting nailed tonight'
'Thor's wife loses fingers to frostbite'
'Look at that weirdo with the backpack'

We were watching the show at the time (since it was the only decent New Zealand-centric comedy show then) and just... stared. Then my twitter feed went apeshit. Good times.

I've done a few interviews and posed for a handful of news spots at SDCC and Wondercon, but the only ones that I've ever actually seen afterward were a super short clip of me as Firestar that a Firestar fan uploaded to Flickr, and a youtube interview that I did with these two random giggly teenage girls who apparently are e-famous or something:

Every year for the Dragon*con commercials. Plus, I guess you could count the 4 Days at Dragon*con documentary.

One time a Univision reporter was at A-kon and asked me and some of my friends to walk behind them as they did a piece on the con... I never saw it though.

My first cosplay got featured in our city's newspaper. It's no TV but I'm still pretty happy about it :D

I made it onto the Baltimore news during Otakon in my Yoko cosplay.

Mfw I saw the report later and it just made all Otaku look like a bunch of homeless, weeaboo, idiots. I realize that's a majority of them, but not all of us.

My friend and I were on the news in a story about the con. Nothing too exciting, but my mum was impressed at least!

I don't watch TV so I don't know if it was featured, but my Old Snake costume has been featured in magazines, internet articles. and Beatdown boogie's D*con video.

As well as cool pictures with Metal gear creator, Hideo Kojima.

My wife gets much cooler features.

Been in a couple interviews and done a couple walkbys for someone's videos.

Been in a couple movies but that was just me being me, not in cosplay.

I'm not big on spotlights, makes me think I'll say something stupid.

A long time ago at NYCC. I was interviewed for a couple of radio and television shows. Mostly for local broadcasts, though there was also a nationally broadcast show I made it into but I won't mention it here. It was the same year I was featured in New York Magazine. Pretty pimp year.

Was featured on a local video game show here a while ago, and at the same convention was in some footage for one of those random news "look at the nerds" fluff pieces. I'm sure I've been in a few of those ones but can't remember specifics.

Eh, a cosplay fight video I was in has been featured on Kotaku, Smosh, and many other videogame blogging website

A few of my friends and I were featured in our city's weekly entertainment newspaper. It highlights fun events going on and they were really interested in our local anime con, so they invited us down in costume and asked to take some pictures.
I was really surprised when the issue came out and my face was on the front cover.

...well a blur of me was in a local newspaper.
I don't like being in pictures so I dove into a bush when the photographer took the picture.

I am simply a man in a mask. Many of you fear (and rightly so) for the future of our community. Many of you believe that our community will soon be destroyed by the cancer that has caused such radical changes as those which have been enacted. Many of you believe that, as dire as the situation might be, there is still a chance for redemption.

/b/ once thrived on anonymity, on creativity, and on the connections we all made to our fellow foreveralones and neckbeards. We once stood as a beacon of strength, badassery, and our power became known as "anonymous". Fellow /b/rothers, the title of "anonymous" has been corrupted beyond our control. Internet users now bandy it about as if everyone on the internet could be "anonymous". The administration of this site have shown that the title of "anonymous" is now too synonymous with the faggotry that takes place on the rest of the internet-the shit that, sadly, has taken its home right here in /b/-too long have we been plagued with copypasta and ridiculed for our lack of win. Too long have we lived without a true drive to create OC, and a true drive to remain, as ironic as things have become, "anonymous".

Thus, I propose that the identity, "anonymous", be completely dissolved from this website. The administration have already taken steps to get rid of it, and things are getting better.

According to what everyone was saying at the time, my boyfriend and I were on TV in Japan at AX 2010. They had a shit ton of people in costume on the stairs in front of the dealers hall and we got dragged into it. Not idea if it really was on TV, though.

Made it onto G4's coverage of PAX East last year, in the background, got my photo in the Boston Globe's article on the con and wound up in Kotaku's day 2 gallery. Overall, not bad for my first cosplay imho.

From what I've seen there are two ways to get noticed/have your picture taken for in one of these things.

#1 Be sexy

#2 Wear something that looks complicated and uncomfortable but not slapdash (normals will ask "isn't it hot in that?" and "so why did you choose that?")

#3 Be part of a group/crossover group

#3 got me on Kotaku and #2 got me into the Boston Globe.
