Lovely Horse Derpy-Chan! Oh how I've missed you!

I have three yards of Anchors Aweigh in cotton sateen...but unfortunately it looks like I'm not really going to have time to do anything with it. Is there anybody out there who's willing to buy the fabric from me for maybe $70? I originally paid $85 total. It's done nothing but sit around in a box, and it seems like a shame for such a cute design.

Thanks for chiming in, Potato. This is the kind of thing I was looking for. I wish I could take it off your hands but I try to avoid prints with too much white because I'm a stupid klutz.

I'd actually really like to find out how to get more colorways added but I guess I should look around more instead of begging /cgl/.

The ink Spoonflower uses just doesn't go black enough. It's fine in outlines but they can't do a true black in large areas.

They also can't print on black fabric. It's a digital print so it would be kind of like putting black paper into a color printer. The only way to get opaque color on a black fabric would be a silkscreen process.

....Is there any good patterns for simple jsk? (even in old gosurori etc., as long it's its still relatively easy to find, it's okay)

Just noticed Spoonflower has two new fabric types to choose from; kona cotton, and cotton poplin (limited). Both are cheaper then the cotton sateen and both say they're appropriate for dresses. Any fabric experts around to confirm?

I'd especially recommend poplin but yes both are good and pretty lightweight fabrics to work with for lolita.
    >> Anonymous 02/21/12(Tue)22:55 No.5522795
    >>5522784
Cotton poplin tends to have some stretch to it. It's typically a cotton-spandex blend. I'd check their FAQ to make sure that that's not the case. Kona is pretty standard cotton. It doesn't have as nice a hand/finish as sateen, but it'll work just fine for garments. Just keep in mind that you'll be ironing it. A lot.
    >> Jellyfishy !f815jWHams 02/21/12(Tue)23:02 No.5522821

Poplin is a weaving technique which gives a denser fabric than the regular weave.

In order to make a fabric available for sale, you have to first order a $5 proof swatch (or buy any amount of the fabric for yourself). So not all the colors/designs were made available since it would have been $$$ to proof them all -- the person who owns the account started with the most popular ones first I think.
