Arg. I always forget ironing. Plus that one's a bitch to iron, since there's so much material.

I'm still figuring out how exactly I want the hood to go - when I wore the costume to a con, I had the hood tucked into the robe, and for the shoot I tucked it into a turtleneck. The former makes it all stretched out, and the latter makes it look really lumpy and awkward from some angled. But I'll work on it!

Mostly I'd want to make the top of it better. I'm pretty satisfied with the brim (it's held up with heavy duty cardboard), but the top was just stuffed with plastic bags for this shoot lol. I'm also experimenting with ways to keep it on my head better.

I'm Destiny in the back, with a giant balloon in front of me. Used a bike lock chain with a carabiner on the end to clip the book to my belt so I wouldn't have to carry it, but I put a cover on it so it would look bolted to the book.

As for the wig, I'm actually kicking around the idea of getting a new shorter wig because I originally bought this one to trim to the right length, but then every time I got close to it with scissors I just couldn't make myself do it. It's just too pretty to cut!

Thanks for the input! It was a bit thrown together outfit for the shoot, and the jacket was actually a visual kei coat I purchased for a Phantom of the Opera costume I did. Awesome cosplay! Very nice suit and helmet. And props to not being able to see your face. The only thing I don't like is the white zipper. Celty's was always so subtle in the anime. It also went really low but that's hard to do unless you're really good at modifying or you do it all from scratch. Probably not much you can do to change the zipper color, either.

The thing with trying to find a suitable catsuit is that most zips went under the crotch and around to the butt. I felt that wasn't suitable for Celty and picked a lesser evil to try and be more accurate. I'm not really that experienced with sewing, more props, so making a catsuit seemed a bit daunting.

This comment isn't so much about you, its about the photographer.
Because this photo is cropped, assuming its cropped, it makes your leg look very awkward.
My only complaint about you would be your choice of pose. The position of your leg looks very painful and unnatural. I also think your costume should've been a bit more...form fitting? Yes, form fitting around your chest and then let it fan out towards your waist.
Personally, they should've taken it at a higher angle.

With the reference pic it really helps. Your hair/wig seem to need more volume/poof at the front. Still not a fan of the glasses, but they're accurate and work for the costume. The frames need to be a little thicker. Not sure how to improve that without getting new frames or bulking the ones you have. Best guess to do that would be dark tape, but that's tacky.

It's not something we do often, in general I'm not a fan of being in public in cosplay, but we wanted to catch up with and get acquainted with some of our 'local' CT cosplayers. At this particular FYE I guess they have events every few months? I went once two years ago and there were ~20 people, this time there were about 150 I believe. Picture is the crowd that was left at the end around 8:00. It was actually pretty fun. Met some really neat people.

I really like that lavender wig! I didn't even see it when I was searching ebay. I was originally going for a pinker tone because her hair is a very pinkish lavender in the game, but I definitely like the look of bluer wigs better, and with Touhou there's a lot of freedom to do whatever the hell you want.
