is the shit version of /r9k/. Cosplayers who "act" like whoever it is
they're dressed as are generally looked down upon here. Making costumes
is fun and it's honestly pretty cool to see how the really skillful ones
put together some of the more complicated designs.
Furthermore,
cosplay is occasionally done for costume-related events, but
more-often-than-not is usually reserved for conventions. It's fun to put
a lot of work into a costume and go show off your work at a place where
people who share your hobbies and interests are gathered. Also, a lot
of people involved with favorite fandoms (such as actors, voice actors,
artists and writers) host panels there so it's cool to check it out.
You would know all of this if you left the house.
tl;dr: Sure it might not be the "coolest" hobby ever, but fuck you we're enjoying ourselves. |
