So if I want to get actual costuming advice and help, should I go to cosplay.com or where?

LOL! That chart is so true. Idk OP I'd just google tutorials. Maybe check the archive? That's about it.

Cosplay.com can be a mixed bag. There are a few people who know what they're talking about, but you'll also get a lot of "lol just use hotglue!" kinds of responses. A combination of both cosplay.com and sticking to the progress and other on-topic, non-catty, helpful threads on cgl is probably best.

Don't go to either one to get cosplay help. Go to places that focus on the specific thing you're trying to do, like casting or embroidery or corsetry. Look up tutorials. Read other forums. Coscom and /cgl/ are for socializing.

I don't know OP, /cgl/ has helped me out in the past.

And I see their harsh, soul destroying criticism as tough love.

[spoiler]Why don't you love me Seagulls?

This graph looks like what's been going on recently. /cgl/ is all schizophrenic right now. It's been alot more helpful in the past.

I don't know what you're calling the past, but if you mean for the last handful of years...you're fooling yourself. There were no good old days.
    >> Anonymous 02/07/12(Tue)14:21 No.5466409
    what do you need?

/cgl/; Where femanons go to reaffirm gender stereotypes.
