01/08/12(Sun)16:49 No.5335442Wasn't bad, wasn't extremely good in regards to the emotional stress. Went
to senior prom all four years, played varsity sports my freshman and
sophomore year, made first honors, and was a paid school lifeguard by my
senior year and only went to the high school school part time (until
11am) because I took advanced classes at a local college. Voted "most
unique individual" in senior superlatives.
Went to a medium-sized high school, so everyone knew everyone else and drama spread like wildfire. I
was pretty popular and considered 'cool' my freshman year (Hot Topic
mall goth, etc.). However I had dated some asshole my sophomore year,
and made a lot of girls hate me unconditionally when I broke up with
him. By my junior/senior year I was known as a bitch because I wouldn't
play nice to this girl who kept harassing me because she was convinced I
was "tryin to steal her MAN." She also revealed to the entire school
that I was liberal and was pro-choice. But in my school that means
you're a whore and a "babby killer." Teachers got wind of my reputation
and eventually banned together and got me expelled from the National
Honor's Society because I was "late" to two meetings, one of which they
couldn't prove because the student treasurer refused to mark down my
presence. I felt bullied by everyone everyday, but I pressed on. High
school made me learn that you've got to keep your head held high and not
let shit 100% get to you. Besides, shit turned out okay for me in
college. I got accepted into their Honor's Society, I'm a double major,
and I've made Dean's List. Half of the people who talked shit and
bullied me either got teenage pregnant, didn't go to college, or don't
have jobs. Sometimes it's not you, it's your environment. |
