I'm trying to find the right type of foundation and lip gloss. I need some advice since I'm going as a brolita this weekend for ALA and want to look my best.

    Pic related, it's me.

before you do anything else, pluck them eyebrows

are you looking for high quality foundation, or just something cheap to use for one day?
    >> Anonymous 01/02/12(Mon)17:29 No.5306839
Your skin is a little rough, so I'd recommend getting a foundation primer to put on first. It helps create a smooth surface so that the foundation goes on much smoother as well.

My favorite foundation is Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse, and I found out a lot of my friends wear it as well. Not too expensive, either. You can pick it up at walmart or target or most drugstores.

Are you going to be doing anything with your eyebrows or covering them with a wig?

it depends. something of high quality might be preferred. my current lip gloss is from Loreal Paris Shine Struck Liquid Lip Cover 866 Reserved and Maybelline Mineral Power Classic Ivory Light 2.

don't worry, i'm planning on plucking them.

also if you have rough skin, moisturize the crap out of it the night before with a moisturizer that isn't pore clogging.

foundation will go on much smoother

I third the eyebrow advice. Alternatively, you could cover them up like here: youtu.be/vb3D-afzKEc
Of course you don't have to go full drag queen and do a more natural shape, but it saves the pain of plucking and if you mess up, you have to wait for the hairs to grow back, which may take a week.

just a tip, try smiling less big, girls tend to have a less wide smile than males, if that helps.

On a related subject... this weekend?

Why the FUCK are you only asking now?

you definitely need more coverage than just a powder foundation, but keep the powder to set your face with once you find a liquid foundation you like.

also keep in mind that most places allow you to return makeup products that you aren't satisfied with. buy a few different brands of foundation and try them all out, and then return the ones you aren't going to use.

in my experience, makeup forever hd foundation has pretty intense coverage, but it feels a little heavy and gets greasy after a short time.
Maybelline fit me foundation has much lighter coverage but also gets greasy.
covergirl clean oil control foundation has medium coverage and doesn't feel greasy at all compared to the others. it's also the cheapest and irritates my skin the least out of the bunch.

also, the best pressed powder i have ever used was maybelline dream matte mouse pressed powder. it's really smooth and doesn't settle into rough spots or make your skin look flakey.
